Alright Folks,
I just finished installing my P3cars boost gauge (the second edition). I set it to display the throttle angle. Here are some quick observations: 1. Pressing the gas pedal slightly results in 80-90% open throttle! This is what I mean when I say that the maps need more linearity. I want to see direct correspondence between gas pedal travel and throttle angle! If we had a throttle cable, this is how things would work because there is a 1-to-1 correlation between how much I press the gas pedal and how much the throttle is opening. 2. Say I was cruising and I wanted to accelerate slightly (not WOT). I press the gas pedal slightly, I see the throttle angle increase, the car begins to accelerate. Then out of nowhere there is a throttle closure (the throttle angle decreases)!. Then immediately following this the throttle angle increases to 80-90%. During this entire process, my foot position does not change, i.o.w: I am neither pressing the gas pedal, nor backing off it. This is what gives the car the "surge" and the ON-OFF feeling. If Cobb manages to fix those two issues, it would be perfect. I will shoot some videos with my GoPro HD camera and you will see what I mean.

Vas,
Is this with 2.01 and 2.02? I'd like to see how V1 and V2 read. Quote:

I forgot to make it clear. This is 2.02 beta 93 octane base map. I got carried away and I completely forgot to load the V2 map. Obvious brain fart on my behalf. ![]()

I think your first impression of V1/V2 will be, WTF happen to the power. I swear it feels like stock power from 0-80%

Calibration updates
In case you missed it, COBB released the calibration updates yesterday. I have loadedthem on the AP and will try them out this weekend.
No Stage 2 yet, but this is good.

I uninstalled my AP last night to make sure I was able to uninstall it without any issues because I was one of the original people who were having issues getting it to install. After uninstalling last night I tried to install it but I don't hear the clicking noise that when it's connected to the ECU. It goes through the process, but gets stuck on the verifying and loading maps screen. I've updated to the latest firmware and manuanlly loaded one of the new calibration maps last night. Any ideas?

I've been running Stage 1 93 Octane for a few weeks now and read the following codes from the AP:
P2d25 p2f71 I understand the first is a tuning code but does anyone have an idea of what the second is? |

AP stuck in Recovery mode
Hey guys,
I updated the firmware of my AP last night. Then I went to uninstall the flash from my car before installing the new maps. Right about when the flash back to stock was going to finish, I got an error saying it couldn't complete the flash. Now the AP was in recovery mode. I followed the instructions to get out of recovery mode, but it said that my car wasn't pair to the AP anymore. Fortunately, my car started and ran fine while having this issue. It did have a Service Engine Soon light, but it eventually went away after a few drives. I've emailed, called, and tried leaving a PM to Cobb today but haven't gotten any responses back from them yet. I was wondering if this has happened to any of you guys or if you guys had any suggestions on getting the AP out of recovery mode. Thanks |
