The 7 series has that...even closes the sunroof.

Just found this out now, sorry if its been posted already! For those with CA, if windows are down & sunroof open and you get out of the car, grab the driver's side handle and the doors lock, windows close, and sunroof shuts.

You got lucky then, or perhaps some body styles or models went a bit longer. The 3/09 date came from BMW via a forum member, but there are probably exceptions. Don't expect to see any 2010 models with the key hole though.

Have my 1st BMW for almost a week now and I'm loving this thread, especially this post!

Thanks!

...that it would die twice with under 16k on the ODO, and that I would "need" an extended warranty that costs over $3000. Seriously, when I got my car, the CR was kinda outdated--they were running off of E46 330 data and the E90 330/325 was too new. Therefore CR showed BMW 3 with nearly all red circles, as if it were a Honda or Toyota. I'm not kidding--I thought the new 335 with 300 HP was a slam dunk if only I spent the $8100 which represented how much more the 335 coupe was over a G35S sedan....

The little indicator lights for the driver and passenger seat heaters illuminate symmetrically.

The trunk open warning chime will go away after you reach a certain speed and will restart after coming to a complete stop.

My 2009 328i vert has a build date of 05/09 and I do have the mechanical key on the trunk

So, if your battery dies you cannot open the trunk. If you have ski pass-thru, you can reach through from the back seat and pull the emergency release. If not, you cannot get into the trunk at all until you charge the battery or use jumper cables.

I just got my CPO 2006 325i Alpine White this afternoon and that was one of the feature I tried. Apparently, the feature for closing all windows and sunroof when locking from the remote is not available and that is true for all North American bimmers - according to my Sales Agent. I had to manually insert the key to lock the car and that took care of closing all windows and the sunroof.
That is just too bad for it's very impressive to hold the open button and see all the windows and the sunroof open up! Closing all from the remote key would equally be impressive...

This drives me crazy - the design was the same on my E39 and also on my E90....

WHY does it wait to warn you until you are driving away? I'd like some indication in the instrument cluster before I am driving down the road....

The other day I was looking under the hood, and there was a label about using blue bolts. Never noticed it before.

recently enabled my rear fog lights, and noticed that the left side light is slightly brighter than the right side. makes more sense why the US spec is the way it is (left side only).

Mine are fine @ 155mph. Are you guys talking about wind noise through the window seal? If so then you need to get your doors adjusted at the dealership.
