I finished the CCV / inner DISA replacement on my 325i. Computer says it's all working nicely now. Also replaced both VANOS solenoids, despite them seeming OK when "clicked" with a battery one was causing VANOS angle errors. The Febi/Bilstein ones are £58 each compared to over £90 for Vaico.

Only problem is I'm not certain the CCV hoses are clicked into place well enough, an almost impossible job even with plenty lubricant to aid penetration(!). If they pop off I'm not going be a happy man. In the past BMW would have used hose clamps for this. Possibly one of the most awkward jobs I've done in 25 years of working on BMWs.

Washed it. Changed the oil.

Went well right up until I drove it and the lifter ticked like it never has. Odd. Same Castrol 5w-30 as usual. Went away after couple hundred miles.

Glad that worked itself out. This car has never repaired itself yet.

they're cloudy with water spots and still need a polish.

I drove 15 miles out of my way to avoid road construction today.

Looks Great! Worth every minute.
I go out of my way to avoid road works too. A different route is always a nice change.

Cleaned and fixed some slow and inconsistent disa valve motors. They were super weak on the inpa test and sound horrible when they have dirt and oil inside.

Motor as is out of the disa valve that wouldn't move all the way:

Cleaned all the leather with Zanio products - looks very nice now!
and....
Almost crashed it......

Someone pulled into the fast lane without looking and was easily doing 50mph slower than me - so learnt the car brakes really well! And holds a straight line under full emergency peddle stomp - which is nice!

Drove it to work and got the error code "2aac" Signal Implausible.

I believe this is the Inner DISA valve. Car runs perfect, idle doesnt move when at a stop.

Anyone with any ideas?

My car battery is getting low, 70% I think.

Ha I wish. Some of these motors are on their third cleaning cycle with compressed air too. I opened one and the brushes were done. Its a toss up whether it works out or not but give it a try. Nothing is for sure unless you open them which is a chore.

Test with inpa they should make a fast and sharp plastic flapping sound. If it sounds like a lazy motor it's probably screwed.

Finally got rid of the stock sport suspension and installed m performance springs, koni yellows, and dinan rear upper shock mounts. Will likely need to throw on an e93 m3 front sway bar as there is still a lot of body roll.

Nice! Look into the Dinan anti roll bar. I have close to the same setup
