Considering finding a pole position seat for my drivers seat and just removing the passenger seat and back seats for track days. Advantage would be that I could put 2 race tires in the front sitting on the floor where the seat used to be.

Anybody do this? Would result in maximum weight savings.

Pole position is like 17lbs, with mounting hardware i think its like 26; stock seats are like 65lbs. Remove both stock seats and add in pole position is minus 104lbs. Rear seat delete is minus 54lbs. So thats like 158lbs just in free seat work that I can put back in 1 hour after the event.

M3 brakes have bigger rotors but similarly horrible calipers as 335's. Both can get away with stock calipers with good rotors/race pads, but both benefit greatly from BBK's. No difference here.

We replaced the bushings that matter when we did subframe bushings and M3 control arms, or did you forget?

Anyone attempt composite rear window/rear side windows? Seems like an easy drop and not really a noticeable alteration. Saw a few cars with these types of mods and they dropped about 30lbs conservatively. Edit* Stupid autocorrect

My shop uses them fairly commonly on racecars, you would just need to get a special cleaner(plexus for example) and fasten it down properly

I also fully understand that our cars aren't necessarily designed to be light and aren't the greatest to start with if looking for light. I ALSO understand that weight isn't everything, but hell WHY NOT drop a few pounds right? I'm already on a diet

Here's what I have found so far, although I don't know of most of the exact weight savings numbers... I don't know if I will personally be able to get well....any of these before next season but if I can get an idea I might be able to scrap some together :-P

-Wheels/Non-RFT Tires (Unsprung): ~45lbs
-Lightweight Battery (Rear): ~40 lbs (stat by HP Autowerks)
-CF Hood (Front): ~30lbs
-CF Boot (Rear): ~15lbs
-Exhaust (Center): ~20lbs
-Removing rear seats (Rear): ?? (for track days...)
-Replacing front seats (Front): ~80lbs (stat by HP Autowerks)

SUGGESTIONS:
-Headers
-LTW Control Arms
-Interior Panelling
-FMIC
-Downpipes
-Intake

Anyone know of any other permanentish mods that dump weight without damaging daily drivability? Preferably the mods would be in the front to dampen that 53/47 or so split we have going.
