Thanks!
I just never heard of anyone putting just the LUX for the E90 LCI halogens. Good info! haha I wouldn't have wanted to buy some AE and have not them not working. |

very good info on these posts maybe someone can help me out: If u have a 2010 335i e90 LCI w stock xenons: What options do I have to get rid of the yellow and make the lights look more blue than white. From the previous posts I should prob go with lux h8 rah? Also any ideas on who is offering the best deals on these and do they come w warranties? I like the RD's V2 look on pg 4 but Im not sure about if it will work or if it has issue with burning out etc..thx

Pushin this back to the top.
Mods, could we finally get this stickied? The amount of questions about various AE replacements runs rampant in this forum.

so question other than lux4.0 which is discontinued and the unreliable RD is there any other angel eyes for pre-lci e90 xenon that have a little bit of blue?? Like something above 6000k and below 8000k would be what I would be looking for I think....
I'm looking for something other thank just white.

does Lux 5.0 have any flicker/flashing issues as other LEDs do?

When I recently installed my new LUX 5.0 LEDs, I decided to take a few pictures halfway through as a comparison to the stock OEM halogens. I hope these can help someone make a decision as to what brand to buy.
No Light: These three pictures were taken in my garage with varying exposure times and minimal external lighting. The LUX 5.0s appear whiter (albeit with a hint of blue) and slightly brighter in every instance. When looking at these pictures, note that the corner turn signal bulbs are illuminated as well. Ambient Light: Both the OEM bulbs and LUX 5.0 LEDs were highly visible with the presence of only ambient sunlight, with the LUX 5.0s being marginally more noticeable from indirect angles. Direct Sunlight: In direct sunlight (afternoon sun shining towards the front of the vehicle), both were effectively invisible. Yes, they're actually on. Realistically, I wouldn't expect any except the OSSes to be visible in this scenario. Indirect Sunlight: With the car rotated 180° and the sun now shining on the rear, both are visible once again, but neither necessarily more so than the other. Both become significantly less noticeable at indirect angles. Overcast: The LUX 5.0s look better on an overcast day, but are still less noticeable at indirect angles. These two pictures were taken post-installation, and, as such, the OEM bulbs had already been removed. Nighttime: The LUX 5.0s complement the colour of the stock Xenon bulbs nicely at night. They do look much better to the physical eye than the pictures portray. Colour Emission: Finally, to show the stark contrast in the color emitted from each bulb, I took a picture of the reflection of the light on my garage door. Take note that the corner turn signal bulbs are illuminated, and are the cause of the outermost amber reflection on each side. |

Used one of Cameron's pics to replace the daylight shot of the Lux 5.0's.
Thanks, Cameron. Nice work!

Thanks for all of your comments guys! This thread was really helpful when I was deciding on which replacement to buy, and I still can't imagine why it hasn't been stickied yet.

I'm not sure if it has been mentioned yet, but stay away from the MYCARR CCFL angel eyes. I spent $100 on them and they are crap. My first set melted themselves within about 6 months. They were nice and white when I first installed them, but I noticed them getting dimmer almost immediately. After a month or two they were giving off yellow, halogen type light, then completely burned out a few months later. I was able to replace them under warranty, but can see them dimming again. Not as quickly as the first time, but they def aren't as bright as they should be. Right now I'm just biding my time before I can earn some more money and get some new LED angel eyes.
