Great pics. Thanks for sharing your experience. Really liked your comment about the folks on this forum and the incredible support that is available. During my short tenure here, that has been my experience also.

Is it possible to use the scr system tank and pump to supply methanol to the intercooler rather than buy an aem kit since it's already in place and just reroute it with smaller hose and that way you can use the sensor in the tank to alert you when it's nearing empty

Kaw, disclaimer, I have no experience with methanol injection. Having said that, while I doubt you could just tap in to an existing fluid level sensor, I would guess that the urea tank could be re-purposed to at least hold the meth, and hey it's a big tank. You might have to worry about siphoning etc.

While working on the fuel filter did you happen to read who's the maker of the pre heater element?

Not sure what the pre-heater element is -- is it the thing in the attached detail shot?

He didn't work on FF. He removed Aft NOX sensor mounted to FF. PWJ, heater is on input side of FF. You unplug heater from FF when replacing FF. It is shown above the NOX sensor plate. The connector OP shows is on aft end of heater. I haven't worked on this but believe you unplug heater from old FF and reuse it with new FF

Yes, that's the fuel filter heater element. Just in case I need one in the future I don't want to pay twice the price for having the three letters on it and would like to know who's making them for BMW

I think I will call my car finished for now. I got a stage 2 from Jarek, gutted the DPF and SCR. Also I made and installed a blocker plate for the EGR. The wastegate is ported to the recommended 9/16" as well. I couldn't be happier. It whistles very nicely but is not loud at all from inside. It's perfect. Thanks to all who helped, I love it.

Ditto re the whistle. I'm noticing it mainly at low speeds with the window down.

Selective Catalytic Reduction (SCR) is an advanced active emissions control technology system that injects a liquid-reductant agent through a special catalyst into the exhaust stream of a diesel engine. The reductant source is usually automotive-grade urea, otherwise known as Diesel Exhaust Fluid (DEF). The DEF sets off a chemical reaction that converts nitrogen oxides into nitrogen, water and tiny amounts of carbon dioxide (CO2), natural components of the air we breathe, which is then expelled through the vehicle tailpipe.

Thanks for the fast reply. So what is the benefits of removing this if you already have egr and dpf delete? And do uk spec cars have this also? Cheers

On this side of the planet scr is known as "Ad Blue" or "Bluetec"

I have a question....
For sliding out the DPF do I have to remove the vacuum controlled rubber mount also or do I just remove the support between engine and rubber mount?

You probably will get by with leaving the rubber mount in place but might as well remove it. It's not that much more work.

You can leave the actual mount in. Just removing the support is enough.
