Yes, and yes. You will be seeing 20+ psi maps for those that really want to push their cars running race gas.

What am I missing with the 180 load thing?

We taper boost past 5k due to the baby turbo guys. Pushing it hard up there is like spitting water though a straw. The exahust manifold pressure peaks at 45-55psi past 5.5k RPM when trying to run 18psi out there. The data says the turbos are out of air and will self descruct if you keep pushing it. Not something we want for a pump stage 2 or stage 2 + FMIC map. Stock turbos will run 18psi all day long in the lower RPM range.

Here is a run down of the maps Clap has:
Stage 2 - Requires downpipes with a recomendation for a intake and catback (especially the 135i and 535i)
Stage 2+FMIC - Requires downpipes and a FMIC with a heavy recomendation for a intake and catback (especially the 135i and 535i)

Each of these will come in the following flavors:
"Drive" as in a nice daily driver map for those that just want a little bump in power with stock rev limits.
"Sport" as in a sporty map with a bit more power than "Drive".
"Aggressive" as in a map that turns the car into a fire breathing hotrod (Recommended 93 Octane).

Cheers,
Rob

Can you run stage two without caltless downpipes? It's too much hassle to run catless in California. Plus, we have the best gas in the world... 91.

I would probably get a FMIC, catback exhaust, and maybe meth depending how it would be integrated with COBB.

Rob, in your expert opinion, can those impending race maps be used with methanol? With proper external failsafes of course.

ETA for this map?

but 18psi is very different then 10... is Claps boost curve going to be very similar to the stage 2 release? I don't think turbos are close to choking below 16ish around 5500rpm, but I understand from a mass release viewpoint if pressure and EGT is rising a lot.

The maps will be able to be used with meth. I will have a write up on all the meth testing we have done in the future. It's interesting for sure.

No ETA as of yet.

You can run the stage 2 maps with cats or without.

The pressure being reported by the stock MAP sensor is reported lower than actual above 5k like Jeff mentioned. We have mapped out the 2.5 bar sensor and it is linear meaning the ECU is skewing the data. We will be fixing the accuracy reported by the ECU in the near future.

The car is running more than 10 psi at 5.5k

Cheers,
Rob

Rob, sorry I didn't ask the question properly. I meant to ask if we could use methanol injection in lieu of race gas, not with it.

Rob,
I realize that downpipes make a big difference in power and are better for the turbos. As replacing stock cats is illegal technically even if replaced with catted dps, I would hope that there is a stage that can make use of an intake, FMIC, and catback exhaust.

-It is illegal to modify the stock catalytic converter on any car unless that catalytic converter has failed and there is documentation to support this assertion.-

This would essentially allow for something more than stage 1 without illegally modifying your car.

Disclaimer: I will run catless downpipes in the future. While my warranty is intact however, I will run stock downpipes. I don't really give a shit about the legality, I just don't want to fry my turbos or roast my stock cats on stage 2.
