Having a look at what this guy has discovered I can see that the mounting points for the e93 on the sill are reinforced so I’m going to abandon the underbody v brace and go for the just the vertical v brace as this will also fit without having to buy a new e93 undertray. I’m going to do the DIY subframe reinforcement bars other have done. I appears this mod works best on the e8x platform. But at least we can have the vertical bars. Interestingly the lci car in the link about seems to have the welded part for the later bars so maybe on an LCI the whole thing is possibly. |

Nice find there. I really didn't expect the chassis ends to be in a different place! Shame, because I want to do this mod so that I can have the plastic center jacking point

I don't really understand what you are trying to do, if your car is an E9x it is "easy" to add the lower reinforcement bars due to the fact that you have all the fixing points int the chassis. Adding the font V bars is simple too because you are lucky to have the fixing point on the frame rail. Sadly, on e8x cars we don't have this fixing point on the frame rail. |

I’m pretty sure that only the e93 subframe has the the fitting point for lower reinforcement bars. See photo. Unless it’s pre 2007. With the bracket 51617135640 I can fit pre 2007 v brace bars. But do they have mounting point on the body end by the side sils. I though you cut and welded them because the were no rear mounting points on the body. |

Did you have to modify/shorten because you have an e8x? https://www.bimmerpost.com/forums/sh...php?p=26729895 |

Oh right, I totally missed that in the drive2 thread. So it's still on, fitting the <02/2007 bars and subframe block? How necessary is the e93 undertray?
My 2007 e91 doesn't seem to have the mounts on the chassis rails for the front v brace bars...though maybe I was just being dumb when I looked. |

E90 & E91 it is not clear... but it is easy to check It is difficult to undersand the BMW logic in the chassis reinforcement. |

The e93 has additional support structure in the sill to support the reinforcement bar so we can’t just use a rivnut. This means we can only fit the vertical bars which will not require the new undertray. I’m going to make my own subframe brace bars like others have. I was going to use 3mm aluminum sheet but it’s way cheaper to to buy rectangular tube. I might buy the rear brace bars the goes under the firewall and attached to the rear of the e92 v brace. |

Nice shot of the E93 M3 rear bracing from M359 Restoration's video. It's cool how the E93 additional bracing bolts to the standard M3 bracing. at 8:39 |

I still want to fit this on my e92 330i the problem is I need to use the e91 parts due to the deeper plastic storage tray that is in the boot. I think if you have 335i you’ll be fine. The problem is the drop down brace which actually looks stiffer on the e91 is so hard to find and no breakers can be bothered to remove it. I would happily add mounting points in the chassis for this as there no many options to stiffen the rear of the chassis up.
