Got an 8.73sec last night and actually managed to save it on the SD card, same setup as last time, full weight, pump+meth
Pump gas + 100% meth COBB stockish custom map (stock timing, stock boost, 11 AFR) JB4 progressive meth upping boost to 18-19psi (great timing, no dropouts) FBO Wavetrac LSD Race Weight of car: 3540lbs + 225lbs driver = 3765lbs 19" wheels 245 tires front, 17" wheels and MT ET DRs on the back Dual CM7 nozzles 3/4 tank of gas I think I need to find a closed road with 3% decline or close to it somewhere...my current closed road and airfield I'm using is too horizontal (0.005% decline ) JB4 log of the run: Last edited by dzenno; 10-05-2011 at 02:39 PM.. |

Mr. 5, scratch my previous runs, here's the best so far, 8.2sec, .DBN sent over to your email address
COBB stockish tune (11AFR, stock timing, stock boost) JB4 map6 + 50meth add (doesn't hold 20psi though, 12ohm should solve it) 100% meth CM10 + CM7 nozzle VMR VB3 19x8.5 rims front 245/30/19 Kosei K1 17x8.5 275/45/17 MT ET DRs rear pump 94 gas full weight (all seats in) Some ppl asked about 100-200km/hr time (those in Europe) and here it is from the same file, 7.1 seconds.. Thanks!!! Gotta say, I was pretty pleased . I had my laptop with me to record the runs...but the damn thing died on me, which is what I get for working late and using it :P. If nothing else, the logs might help explain why I had a few runs in the 9.6 range with 60-120 times in the 8.1-8.3 range, yet my 9.12 run was a 7.2 60-120. And seeing what you accomplished with the NLS, I definitely want to buy the rev3 setup to try out the NLS, see if I can't get 8s out of it. I still want to try Cobb or the new Procede maps and do a full 4th gear pull and see what that yields...

Great place though at around a 2.8% slope, just squeaking under the 3% limit!

Another interesting observation...at my normal run location (avg 1% decline), the run starts with a slight incline (about 10 feet), then progresses to a decline...what's interesting is that both the 7.3 and 7.4 60-120 were started well into the incline portion (where I was shifting to 4th on or before the decline), while my other runs with 8.1-8.3 60-120s were started with little to no incline left, and where I was shifting to 4th solidly on the decline (measuring from the start of the decline=1.3% avg decline). Not sure what it means, but I find it awfully strange that the quick 60-120s were set with significant portions of the run on an incline. Perhaps the higher load makes the car run itself harder? Definitely something to keep an eye on when I'm not trying to log with a dead laptop.

His car/runs are what keep me motivated in modding my car only without nos my goal is to find means of getting down to those times eventually without nos which "should" be possible on RBs but it'll require a similar setup to his weight wise I think
His car is only 1.1seconds behind the Bugatti Veyron in 100-200km/hr!! That is TopGear material right there |

Yes...im pretty sure it is my verified 6.95 second run...just did the km/hr conversion. If only i had a DCT on the sedan....the power cutoff between shifts hurts my times.

Was thinking of throwing nitrous into my car to pull into the low 11's... but I just hate the squeaking/rattling that comes after you start gutting your interior and putting it back together.... it just never is the same so I can't come around to doing serious weight reduction LUCKILY... I have a buddy with a FBO+METH plus stupidly weight reduced 135i willing to give nitrous a shot.... come spring time it should be ready to do some damage. We tried it a couple weeks ago, but were finding it too difficult to comfortably maintain traction at WOT even in 3rd so it was hard to get solid runs in. Power cutoff is there due to the nitrous and AT correct?

Driving with seats out is no big deal. No rattles, and car is more lively. It actually makes it easier to carry my new 5 gallon meth cans on the RF floor area, LOL.

Got it down by 0.1sec from last time by going to a 12AFR base COBB map instead of 11AFR before, same meth 100% CM7 and CM10 nozzles, no lift shift...
Overview: ==== COBB stockish tune ("12" AFR, stock timing, stock boost) JB4 map6 + 50meth add (doesn't hold 20psi though, wish it did, 12ohm should solve it but its not in yet...at the moment this is 20psi down to 18psi for majority of the 4th gear pull except post shift, see previous JB4 datalogs) 100% meth CM10 + CM7 nozzle VMR VB3 19x8.5 rims front 245/30/19 Kosei K1 17x8.5 275/45/17 MT ET DRs rear pump 94 gas full weight (all seats in) ============== Here's the run, 8.12sec 60-130: And for the European guys, 7.02sec 100-200km/hr: Sent to Mr.5 for verification... |
