no, but I found a couple other MSV80 binaries. Well, basically nothing is the same in them (which isn't surprising). We'd need an MSV80 A2L or OLS to do much useful. I saw a few things that might be directly comparable but most of it is completely different.
on another note, I'm going to have my wife's E91 325xi this weekend. I'm going to transfer the full load VANOS, VVL, and fuel from the 330i tune. I don't want to mess with part load because it'll probably freak her out. I doubt she ever floors it, but I'd like to see if I can feel the difference since things are so drastically different between the tunes. |

At best because of osmosis(I didnt post for like the 1st year) I'm more of a Wikipedia of facts, I somehow remember how I found information, so its easy for me to redo that search if I don't remember or to link something. My tools are google Image search ( everyone should paste a partnumber and see the power of this tool), realoem, google translate. Most credit is due to those early posts of @e90pilot on 3stage IM conversion and DIY of z4post's -c- and that summer in 2012 when TRW arms were discovered with posts from @flinchy and soem crazy googling from me. That really got me involved. You are right that I did venture beyond Bimmerpost to other n52 places like - UK 3 series, UK 1 series, German 1 and 3 forums. That is were you see my fingerprints on these forums, mainly because no one else was doing it. I mean no one looked at 135i Mid & mufflers for 128i. I check the forum often as my main hobby for the n52 engine, usually on my phone in the following order - 1addicts n52 & suspension (less users = less clutter of duplicate posts/topics) then e90post n52 & suspension. Other hobbies/work are numeric/finance so this is an outlet.

besides adding this cable, is there a way to "easily" download the bin from an msv70 or msv80? I'm guessing I have an msv80, as my car's a 328 with an n52b30m1...
so, i need to download the bin from my car, and then find something with an n52b30o1 to get 330-like mappings. apparently the x3/x5 3.0si from 07 would have those, though I doubt I'll find anyone in the states with a manual transmission 07 x3 3.0si... |

You dont need to limit your self to USA cars. A euro bin will do as long as its MSV80

Is this the thread you're talking about? Some relevant N/A stuff in there, I think.

although the maps in the thread are for turbo i am sure you can modify the valvetronic to reflect what hass posted above for the 330 and other areas of fuel, timing and vanos. |

This code is from a 2011 E87 130i, so its an LCI car, but the code *should* be compatible... Though it was not specified if its a manual or auto... hopefully the maps aren't too different between the two, and hopefully it still operates. The o1 vs the m1 is just the 3-stage intake manifold, and possibly a freer flowing muffler... the latter of which shouldn't create enough backpressure to throw things off *too* much. I have the 3-stage intake prepped in my basement Unfortunately I don't have a BT cable to test with, and wasn't too interested in cracking open the case on my ECU. I have a regular cheapo USB cable and I have a nice pricey ICOM... I'm hoping I can upload the code from the ICOM. |

hook up a battery charger of some sort, then take a backup of your code using the software here:
http://www.n54tech.com/forums/showthread.php?t=20563 then load your code back onto your MSV and make sure it still runs and drives. then load the 130 code, and see how well it works If i were you i'd probably compare your code to the 130 code first to make sure that they're like... the same overall size, that some things are the same, etc. You also might need to hex edit the 130 code so it has your VIN in it, I haven't played around yet with that... |

Don't know yet... it might.
Mine is M/T. I found a Z4 dump too with an MSV80, no idea which engine or year or A/T, M/T, but the files look very very different... any chance you can post or PM me your 328i code? we could compare yours to mine to see how close they are (if i can figure out how to extract mine without spending 180 bucks on a cable.....) |

in the MSV70 bin it has all the maps for both auto/manual already. I'm not sure what config options might be different but the tunes are the same.
you can't just flash any tune file you want though. the program version has to match your data version. there could be several data versions that match one program, but each data can only work with one specific program version. |

this bin is just the data file i take it, and we would need the matched data and program from a MSV80 130i to combine and load onto our 328 to get this to work?
I can upload a different program and data file using my ICOM, and the software I have for it has a few hundred different combinations, but I haven't been able to figure out yet how to get it to tell me which combinations go together, or which files are for which car. if i hook up to my car, i think it will tell me what is the "latest" program and data files for my car, but then i'd need a 130 to plug into also to get the same information are you running the same program version on your 330 and your wife's 325? |

Yeah, i got lucky and they happen to be the same version.
We should be able to compile a list of versions from the daten files. I think it's in the header of the main flash dump. |

I may try flashing the E87 130i bin to my E92 328i tonight. Not sure if I'll have time, though.
Vilord did a comparison of a few different bins, here's what he reported: Quote:
