Nice detailed info. Where can Betaclean be purchased? Could alcohol be substituted?

What's the latest tally for Space Gray? Has it ever reached 5 or more?

Beta Clean & GB answers.

Sorry guys, been so busy I haven't been on this forum for a while. Love the info sharing on here by the way.

Beta Clean: I got mine from Tischer parts department when I got my E92 OEM front lip spoiler (Actually I was the first customer. I picked up at the dealership). Gotta say, it did a very nice job. I had about half left over after the instal. Its supposed to be safe for your OEM finish and removes even the tough glue without destroying the finish. Don't know about alcohol. Be careful what you use on the paint. I say careful because I used to work in a gas station and saw my share of paints and finishes ruined by gasoline.

Not sure if acohol is any worse or the same, I just wasn't willing to try something else other than the recommended stuff. I got beta link glue all over my hands, spoiler and bumper when I did my noob install. It can get rather messy, but it also gives you a half hour window to move things around before it parmanently bonds. Yes parmanent than super glue. Interestinly I hit a cub and the spoiler bent but poped back, and not a hairline crack on the stuff. For the rear spoiler, stick with the 3M tape. I had a few car nuts look at it, and they all think it was factory install. Again remember to press and tape down the two edges (I let the 3m tape run slightly over the inner legde at the ends as I needed something to hold them down.) otherwise there will be a visible mini-gap there. Really its fine and harmless but I like perfection.

Space Gray Group buy: someone asked about the count? A few of us SG guys got impatient and decided to go ahead get it without all 5 people, so the GB count is down again. Evan can chime in.

Just got my spoiler installed yesterday. I ended up just cleaning it with some clean water and used the 3M tape. It is on tightly and seems like I aligned it almost perfectly. Coworkers took a look at it and to them it looks like a professional job...haha

Anyway, yeah, we got impatient and ended up paying the full paint price which I think is still a deal. You would be saving your self a lot of hassle plus the paint finish is just top notch.

I guess I ordered too early before I realized there is really no possibility of this GP to last long enough for the black saphire quantity to get up to production. I guess I'll just not paypal the paint fee and let the order expire.

so let me get this straight okay. 120 is for the lip and 80 for the paint. so that brings it up to a grand total of 260? is that correct?

Well...did you read the first page!?
It's 180 for the spoiler painted and shipped.
Then 80-120 for the paint depending how many people jump in on the group paint.

What kind of calculator are you using?

$120 + $80 does not equal $260. These prices are wrong anyway. A more realistic total price is around $310 (with immediate painting).

Guys, our OEM BMW M3 rear spoilers are 180.00 shipped. Immediate paint charge is 120.00. So it's a total of 300.00 for a spoiler immediately painted and shipped!

With that you get professional paint by a mercedes benz certified paint shop. They've been painting our parts at a perfect OEM BMW match! Plus you get the spoiler shipped at no charge and ready for immediate installation!

Yeah, I said $310 (actually $310.80 total) for us Maryland folks who get to pay Governor Martin O'Money's sales tax.

They work for BMW. Their offices are inside a BMW dealership. I am pretty sure the parts they sell are at least 99.999999913% OEM.

Won't you be getting a 100% OEM spoiler installed from the factory on your M3?

So Evan you mean to tell me I now have two spoilers on my car painted by a Mercedes shop? But they are the enemy!
