There is a wire to get RPM they just don't usually know where it is located, they could also use a optical pickup on the crank but most places want you to have the under body plastics removed.

I didn't know where that wire was so I never bothered to have them hook onto it. It was a dyno day thing so other cars were waiting.

Changed the oil. Contrary to what BMW says, it takes 8 L. By the way, happy Canada day eh!

Got my wife's X5 back up and running. JR tune with Buzzken catted DP and SCR delete. Everything seems good - I only took it for a short run to get some beer (which I will now immediately consume), but no codes or leaks. There's more turbo whistle, but with the stock muffler the exhaust note didn't change dramatically.

Btw, I wouldn't wish this install on my worst enemy...took me all week to get the DPF out. Absolutely miserable...I'll tackle almost any DIY project, but this was one where I should've paid a professional.

Nothing crazy, just a good hand wash and coat of Meguire's synthetic sealant 21 after an oil change. I've been looking for a nice used GL450 for my wife with similar mileage as my 335d and around the 2010 year model. Its shocking how few owners take the time to wash, wax, and detail the interior from time to time. In the age/mileage i'm looking it really shows who does and who doesn't.

I changed mine the other day and also put in 8L. I was expecting it to take 7.5L leaving me with .5L to top-up down the line.

I should have bought 9L I guess.

Not exactly today but, over the course of a month or so. I got this beautifully crafted shiny pipe in a luggage. Then paid a visit to a very knowledgeable guy called Jarek. And then paid a visit to an artist called Chris (Unobtainium). At the end of it all, all I can say is awesome. Thank you Jarek and thank you Chris. I would recommend both of these guys in a heartbeat. The car feels and pulls great and I get great mileage. It was a long time coming but worth it.

ummm... now I haven't had my coffee this morning and going through caffeine withdrawal.

Scoops and a cone filter?

Oh... and I find the stock air box to be more responsive at the low end than the cone filter.

Well, the air box would not fit with the strut bar so I removed it. Working on an enclosure for the cone filter. So far the cone filter has "seemed" to improve my responsiveness throughout the power band, but I don't have any data to back that. I have noticed with the scoops at hwy speeds it responds well. I had a K&N drop in filter before which did better then stock filter in the box.
