B) Cheaper to bring a outside product under an existing brand then to kill the brand and bring in the outside brand. GM is starting to get it. Their latest products are vastly improved and actually competes with the vehicles they are competing against. Yes, for the last 10-20 years GM has put out crap and they are rightfully so facing the consequences, but to remain closed minded when it is obvious that GM's products has improved is down right stupid. |

What do numbers with a 100 shot have to do with anything? 335i with a 75 shot is easy 11's in fact it can go 11's without the juice. And it is not competion, lots of crappy cars can go as fast/faster than a 335i when modded but its still a pig with lipstick on. Sorry this seems to offend you though

Why as in are they lacking any design capabilities in the US? Not questioning their manufacturing capacity.....

Let's face it, the American industry is going to continue to lose sales as long as ignorant people like "some" of the people here on this thread continue to see the US auto industry as it was ten years ago. Truth is, they've stepped up. A lot. Get your heads out of your asses please.

They are cheap for a reason - they are CHEAP! They ALWAYS look great when Holden brings out a new model - then after a few months stuff starts rattling, then you get some squeaks. Then the front air dam unclips off the first time you scrap it. You don't know what you are in for....believe me... Hey, when you see one for real, check out the fit and finish of the doors and boot. The left hand side gap for the bootlid will be 3mm and the right will be over 10mm. Do you know what Holden's answer to being kicked by Jappas and 335s? Put in a 7.0L engine in next year's top end model. How brain dead is that? It is a munter's car. End of story.

I imagined Steve Irwin saying it all. Like I said in my other post, I really hope the interior fit/finish is way better. The interior on the Grand Am was borderline comical. I would actually wedge nickels in between the radio and surrounding dash trim to fill the gap so they wouldn't rub and constantly squeak. I know from the reviews i've read this isn't the case anymore, however, your paying 30k plus so of course that comes with a higher expectation of quality.

Not a whole lot of US cars over here, but I just don't see many BMW drivers that would have a Pontiac in their driveway.
I'm not saying it's a bad car, I'm only saying that part of BMW is the image. Regardless of how nice a Pontiac gets, it will always feel a bit "low class" for me. I might sound like a BMW snob, but I like pulling ladies with the badge. What kind of women hop in a Pontiac for the badge? Never mind,....I don't want to know.

Here is a Edmunds video review of the G8 GT and Charger R/T. It says in the video the G8 basically has copied the 5-series suspension setup and pretty much matched the 535i handling numbers they recently tested. Pontiac is going in the right direction. Edmunds: "Fast, nimble and comfortable, and an awesome value besides; Pontiac builds the poor man's 5 Series." Quote:

I hate when people dismiss a car because its either american made or its not expensive, oh its a ford or chevy so its a pos. What a stupid statement. If you are a car enthusiast you will like a car thats impressive no matter where its built, you would simply like the car for what it was built for. And not because you drive a bmw makes every other car a pos.
