I understand. It is that time of the year for me also. Running around like crazy and not getting enough done. I have a report due that has been sitting on my desk for awhile and can't get it done. I must tell you this! I live near a popular "dice court" (huge parking lot), which has been used illegally for almost 5 years if not longer. Every Sunday it attracts many, many people. You know where the guys show off their skills and make doughnuts and burnouts! I am always amazed at the antics of the BMW drivers, how a driver can spin his car in circles; he gets out and the car continue spinning, he walks away from the car, greet bystanders and then get back in again, all in one smokey motion! Anyway, this dice court was transformed overnight a few weeks ago. The owners of the nearby shops have build speed humps on the whole court. And not just one, every meter or so is a hump. I will send a picture in the week. It looks really funny but it is Bad man, really bad! Of course i understand the shop owners have to clean up the place after the burnouts but the decision is really radical. Not sure where the crowds will go. I liked to see the modified beemers and of course the real dicing happens after the "show" as drivers leave the venue - this part i will miss. I would normally go to the "event" as they are about to finish to get into the dicing/robot to robot stunts. Hope the traffic cops do not read this part. Hope your work situation will get some relief over the June 16, long weekend. Talk soon. |

Yeah - we have a couple spots like that here but they're frequented by the "wrong" croud at the moment. People I'd rather not get involved with... It's a pity. The guys around where I live (mostly) just by the car for the status - not for the ability of the car. They'll drive the car because it's "that" car not because of what it's capable of. And those types aren't interested in runs in the car just for the sake of going somewhere in the car... Anyway - sorry to hear that your spot has been spoilt...
Things will only get better after July unfortunately - just have too much work to do until then... Thanks for the thought though... |

Hi Revo
Sorry I could not attend the BMW club dyno day. Glad you enjoyed it. I had to choose between attending the event in the rain or the international rope skipping (gymnastic) competition at the Good Hope Centre. The competition ended at 6pm with the medal ceremony etc. Had a good warm day. Would have loved to see the Lumina spinning its wheels on the dyno though. 400kw is insane!! Yes, I would like to join the BMW club as well. Do you have an electronic application form? |

I also wasn't gonna go coz the rain was just crazy.
But then it stopped and cleared by 12pm, and the sun was actually shining, albiet a little, in paarden eilland. Send me your email addy.. I'll get you the application form. What's really insane about the lumina is that the owner wasn't even using his nos I reckon they could easily be around 900nm, 550kw region with the gas. IRQ - the club is Exclusively M.. based in Cape Town. Established a few months ago. I'll see if I can get hold of pics of the day. |

Hi. The place you mentioned was/is it in Kraaifontein/Northpine? I remember Metro Cops arriving one day to Shut It Down - What a mess!! The entire neighbourhood was gridlocked with fustrated SPIN fans

Hey guys, Mike here from Joburg. I recently got myself a 2005 E90 323i with the m-sport pack. I am loving this car and found some nice threads on this forum. I am also a car sound fanatic so I'll be uprading the sound system shortly.
Here's some pics |

Thanks Andrew, nice to find a forum just for E90's. There is some really usefull info in the audio and DIY sections. Not sure if I'm brave enought to try a sound install just yet though.
