I just picked up my car last Tuesday, and I definitely notice turbo lag until about 3000rpm. I don't know what software version I have, but I'm really disappointed. Hopefully it goes away, and I can enjoy the performance my car should have...

I'm going in for the lag issue as well as a couple other things this Friday.
I made my SA aware of the lag I was feeling and he said I was not the only customer to complain about the problem. He assured me it would be fixed. I certainly hope it is, for their sake, and mine. |

His name is Emmerson I believe. Spoke with him on the phone for a few minutes about the problem. He was empathetic, and said his car doesn't act that way. So far the most helpful SA I have come across.

THANK GOD someone else noticed the random-IPod glitch too. Very annoying. Granted, about 0.001% as annoying as the lag, but, annoying nonetheless. I didn't even bother griping about that to the phone #/email/SA since I figure the bigger issue is turbo lag.

Anyway, while I do like the loud pop-burble and deep note, I hate the CHEAP sounding CLANK CLINK CLUNK PING of whatever valves and metal contraptions are opening and shutting to allow those noises through. Again, just sounds cheap like the car is falling apart! |

Sorry, I'm confused by this. Do you mean you used to have Dinan, and then they flashed you to 29.2, erasing the Dinan, and the car is BETTER (faster) now without Dinan? Just makes no sense to me if that's what you are saying. Maybe I'm misinterpreting.

the car is not faster or better. i was just commenting on the responsiveness of the low end (a known concern with the dinan flash). I'm pretty much saying 29.2 is working fine for me but i want to romp on it to see if it has the lag issues etc. ppp

Clanging Exhaust - Thought I was alone!
You mean that clattering and clanging that I hear at low revs when I change the throttle is not some loose part, but my 335i functioning as others do (and as designed)? I don't know if that's reassuring or aggravating - or maybe aggravatingly reassuring...

Again, I am SHOCKED that you feel that 29.2 has better low end than pre 29.2 + Dinan. I know people griped about the Rev 1 Dinan having a slower-than-stock response down low, and I have never driven a Dinan, but 29.2 is a friggin DOG like your avatar below 3000 rpm compared to pre 29.2 . Edit - I see you wrote at least twice that you are getting Stage 2 Rev 1 on Saturday..why get stage 1 again if the issue of low/slow throttle response down low is what they fixed in Rev 2?? Edit Edit - Now going back further I see you refer to yourself has having had a "Stage 2 revision 0" on the past...so, I am going to make the assumption that by that you mean what most of us call revision 1, and your revision 1 that you are getting on Saturday is really revision 2...which makes more sense for you to get. |
