DMM = Digital Multi-Meter

You could pull off the connector and ohm the heater leads to determine if there is damage on that circuit. It should be a fairly low resistance. If high or open then the sensor needs to be replaced. Otherwise, we will need to look elsewhere.

i figured out DMM after about 30 mins of being a dummy... LOL

DO u think this would be a good test to conduct? (i know it's kinda long)

It is partially valid but the color codes may not match up. Since you are getting a heater circuit code you should focus on that. Regardless, it will be easier to just remove that sensor and test on a bench. Since it is one of the rear sensors, it should be much easier (relative) than the fronts.

I think I know what the problem is now. It's the O2 sim. I took it out, drove the car around a lil bit, and still got the same codes
036: HO2S Heater Control Circuit (Bank 1 Sensor 2)
161: O2 Sensor Heater Circuit (Bank 2 Sensor 2)
Please let me know if the O2 sim is welded correctly, the small resistor is 2.2K ohm and the big one is 10K ohm.

If you took out the o2 sim and the codes still pop up (after being cleared), then how can the o2 sim be the culprit? Or did i misunderstand?

I don't think it is your O2 sim.

OK, I get the codes regardless if the O2 sim is plugged in or not. Let's say my conclusion is way WRONG, is my O2 sim wired correctly?

For those people that have catless dps, what codes did you get before you installed the O2 sims?

Looks right to me.

I didn't let it pop codes. I had a feeling I would get the normal codes posted on page 1, so I just installed the O2 sim before even starting the car.

Shiv does mention that the O2 sim only pertains to the codes posted on page 1.

it's not the 02 sim. i got my catless Dp's installed and not even 5 mins after driving i got the 036 code. Cleared it and it came back. I got the 402 &403 (i think those are the normal 02 codes) about a week later. Installed my BMS 02 sims and cleared the codes. The 036 came right back, but the 402 & 403 never came back. So i'm pretty sure it's just a bad 02 sensor unfortunately

so the O2 sim is not supposed to stop the 036 and/or 161 codes from popping up but these codes?
P0402 Exhaust Gas Recirculation Excessive Flow Detected
P0403 Exhaust Gas Recirculation Circuit Malfunction
ok my bad, back to testing

02 sims does not get rid of the 036 or 161 codes... they only get rid of P0420 and P0430 codes (sorry, made a mistake in my previous post)

update
just bench tested the sensor, it's bad, the DMM (knob set at 2V) did not get any response from it when heated up, the sensor has 4 wires
black: for signal (connected to red wire from DMM)
gray: for ground (connected to black wire from DMM)
2 white: for heater
since this is sensor 2, all it does is monitoring the cat but im running catless, is it a good idea if I put in the Universal sensor?

I replaced the sensor and problem solved. Bought the same sensor but comes with splice on connection from Autozone for $70. Bench tested to make sure it's good before spliced it on.

I keep getting like 5 O2 codes.... I think mine might be swtched too

p2096
p2098
p2272
I forgot the other code but basically saying banks 1 and 2 singals are switched? If they were switched would it shoot "stuck lean" codes??

thanks for suggesting to bench test, never thought it was that easy, learning new stuff everyday, did you put the DPs on?
