I killed plenty of goats in my day. But then again I had an unfair advantage... 31psi on alky...

I don't think I would even race one in my 335. Its just not cosher. You're in a luxury sedan/coupe vs. an American muscle car...

Sounds like most of these GTO's are not heavily modded at all. However, the performance spectrum on these cars is pretty wide.

Here are a couple lists of a popular GTO forum:
LS2 Cam only class, Engine must retain OE 243 heads, OE valves, drop in style valve springs (ie Comp 921 springs) ok, titanium retainers ok.

1) housewolf 11.328 @ 118.46 HPE S-Cam, Vig 3K, ARH LTs, FAST 90, Corsa Sport
2) Fraggercrue 11.495@115.84 F14 cam, Yank 3600, Hardcore Intake, Kooks 1 3/4
3) SSmoked 11.714 @ 117.47 LPE Intake, FAST90, AZPS03 cam, SW Headers no cats
4) barkingspud 11.718 @ 113.42 231/237, FAST, SW LT, 3600 tc, 3.91
5) Flash99 11.807 @ 117.44 Pacesetter LT,Fast 90,ripshift, MT DR 3.91
....
16) LS2bluegoat 12.409 @ 113.4 HPE-S cam, kooks, LS7 clutch

Top NA LS2 ET's - Modified - Bolt Ons / Tune Only: (must retain unmodified factory designated cylinder heads (no porting) camshaft and short block)

1) speedshifter 11.95 @ 112 kooks 1 7/8, borla, K&N CAI, ported tb, UDP
2)Old_Goat 12.126 @ 110.61 LPE CAI, X pipe, cutout, ARH 1 7/8 LT, 3200 vig,hpe tune
3) Caveman 12.173 @ 111.59 Kooks catted, X pipe-stock mufflers, LPE cai, Fuddle 3000
4) woodnutz 12.19@114.11 Kooks LT's, Spintech Catback, LPE CAI
5) MacDogg 12.201@111.70 LPE cai, kooks, tune, A4, viglante 3200

As you can see within both cam only and bolt-on only, between the top 10 times there is alot of variation. Driver brings in a more variation. Who tuned it (and are they a hack or good). Just wanted to show the potential though of a properly set up cam only GTO. The fastest H/C GTO runs 10's BTW.

GTO's are very capable cars. The problem is that this is a BMW's website

LOL so true!

The GTO (I used to own an '05 GTO, now own an '08 M3) is indeed a car that has huge potential, coupled with a strong aftermarket (as compared to the e9x BMW aftermarket).

Problem is I own a 335i...Problem is I also own an LS2 equipped vehicle...problem is I am just calling it like I see it. Don't think that I won't hammer a GTO everytime I get the chance though.

Capable and tunable (with the 'Vette LS2 engine) yes, but I still haven't seen a moderately-heavily tuned one around here (in the past 2 years) that is faster than a tuned 335i; just stock ones (or GTO 6.0Ls with exhaust, etc.) that are slower.

You can tune the LS1 as well and most of the REAL fast GTOs are LS1s. The LS1 block is better for higher boost applications and can take an a$$ load of spray. The LS2 has DOD (displacement on demand) ports that can cause issues under heavy loads unless they are closed off. When closed off, no problems.

Newsflash! -- most of us here have actually raced at the track and had just 'a few' runs on the street; no bench racing here.

12.2 @ 114mph on 93oct w/ only 344awhp... No bench racers here partner. Unfortunately I didn't have the balls to launch when I had my 35r kit since I had stock transfer case and transmission. However I did do 11.9 at 135mph from a street start
