It has been pouring rain and foggy constantly here in Georgia so I decided that it was time to do the "Lego Mod." I started by pulling my light switch out.
![]() I took the switch apart and found the piece that I needed to replicate. ![]() Couldn't find any Legos but I do have some nylon laying around. Nylon stock is quickly becoming my favorite thing to work with. Did some measuring, cutting, and filing until I had something that looked familiar... ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() The only thing left to do was to cut the stops off the button. My Klein flushcutters made quick work of that. ![]() ![]() I put everything back together and as you can see from the video it clicks perfectly. ![]() Buttoned it back up, started the car and pressed the button. This is a good sign. ![]() And of course some shots of the fogs on and off. ![]() ![]() I have some LED bulbs and a sticker for the button that I hope matches the front fog switch on the way. Now I am ready to scare tailgaters, and of course be seen in the rain and fog... |

Klii Motorworks. @kliimw on insta.
I played around with the lighting a little more this weekend. I added LED license plate lights, and LED bulbs in the rear fogs. ![]() ![]() Just in time too, it was dark on my drive in this morning. I am not doing well with the time change. ![]() |

I hadn't really looked that closely to be honest.
they work. I assumed they were factory. somebody that knew something owned my car prior, as the headlight washers were already disabled. for sure though need to do that gauge cluster. ![]() |

The license plate bulbs transitioned from halogen to LED at some point. My 07 has halogen, 11 has LED. Probably an LCI vs. pre-LCI thing.

I was a little worried about my car catching this Corona business so I modified my intake.
![]() But in all seriousness, I got a euro airbox for the wagon and put it in last night. ![]() ![]() Of course I cleaned it and treated the whole box with Solution Finish, and coated it with Gyeon Trim. ![]() |

Sweet thread, man! (ineedabubble from GJ) I am seriously considering going down this route if I can't find an E90 M3 DCT in my price range in the next few months.

Since car meets and pretty much everything else no longer exists, I had some free time to change out the interior lights to LEDS in the wagon. I started by pulling all these bulbs.
![]() And the finished product. ![]() I have a couple that are acting up, so I will play with those tonight. I also got a CEL on the way to work this morning, I think its the mass airflow sensor. I broke the clip on mine, so I used the one that came with the Euro airbox. That one threw a code so I put the one with the broken clip in and I think the connector is backing out. Oh well, it gives me something to mess with since I have all this free time. |

Nice on the Euro Intake! I did that on my car about 6 months ago and love it. Inspecting the filter is so much easier and it just has a cleaner look in the engine bay. I feel like I gained a slight bit of throttle response (less initial lag) likely from the Euro intake deleting the charcoal filter. It also has a bit better intake sound when in sport mode in the higher RPM range.
