But nearly all of the P Car advantage is just the launch control.

Almost every measure, the Porsche is better. It even has more room for stuff. And this may be a non issue for some people but the Corvette is bigger and heavier.
https://www.motortrend.com/reviews/2...n-test-review/

Plus, all the Corvette QC issues, I decided to back out of the Corvette. My 911 has none of those issues. I realize it seems like most of the Corvette issues are now gone but it’s still disconcerting.

Oh, absolutely. You made the right call and got the better car. Enjoy it.

I just meant straight line acceleration. Chevy is one generation into this mid engine thing. Porsche has been doing it from the start.

Yes but thats a bit apples to oranges? Porsche has never been designed for straight line performance. Regardless, I'm on the wait list at 3 different dealers for new z06....

Pricing for any decent car right now is F'd, new or used. There are some that have had Z06 deposits for over a year and have msrp deals. So not completely uncommon. P-car dealers have 1.5-2 year wait for 992 allocations, any model including base. Anything in inventory has huge markups.

so, you're comparing a base Corvette to a 992 'S' ? What's the difference in msrp ? How about a base Corvette against a base 718 ? I'm sure their msrp's are more in line......

regardless both great cars and since this thread is about the soon to be revealed C8 ZO6 and as an owner of a C5 ZO6 I fully expect the evolution to be noteworthy

Pricing is a completely different conversation but "ironically" comes up in an argument for a lesser performance car to "justify" their faults. Ultimately, you typicqlly get what you pay for in the long run. This is coming from someone who has owned a z06, gt3, supra, m3's, ect. Again, the c8 is a phenomenal car for the money but overall fit and finish is comical compared to the Porsche counterparts....

Love the C8 but couldn’t help but notice the stitching in a recent video:

I don’t usually care about that kind of thing but holy moly, would look better without any contrast stitching at all

Stitching on my 2SS 1LE is perfect. That has to be some crazy one off, like the right headlight on this Porsche:

Hopefully these engines fare better than the Voodoo motors in GT350 but I somehow doubt it.

I saw a few C8s this weekend at car events and something about it is just not right. The proportions or the way it sits makes it look like a kit car. If you park it next to a Ferrari or McLaren- it sticks out like a sore thumb.

Wat. These engines have been running in the GT3 car for almost a year now. Can't compare them to the GT350 just because it's an American car

I've seen it in every color and I just cannot warm up to it (I happen to like the way the C7 looks). The wing on that Z06 Instagram video above looks just as silly as the rest of them. Sure they're functional, but visually, the make an awkward rear end look even weirder IMHO.

Chevy can’t get stitching to line up, body panels straight, wheels that don’t bend if you breathe on them but they will develop a brand new flat plane crank V8 that revs to 9k rpm with zero issues. Well let’s see i guess but it is highly unlikely.

they gotta cut costs somewhere. up close you can definitely see where they did that (body plastics look cheap, exhaust tips not perfectly contoured to the bumper, panel gaps. They gave the base c8 a horrendous wheel/tire package that is a few inches too small for the wheel well. the brakes are very tiny compared to entry level exotics as well (even the f80 has larger front discs 13.3 vs 15 inch).

anywho... anxious to see the specs on the the z06 w/ z07 pack ! looks like the reveal will be in 30 minutes.

Looking like 660hp/470tq.

If you're worried about misaligned stitching you should probably be prepared fork out another $100K+ for the same performance and a little better interior quality. Don't know where you're going to find another FPC NA V8 though...

EDIT: I'm sorry, officially 670hp/460tq. I mean I guess there's the M2CS for probably similar money if you want better feeling knobs and switches.
