Heck, let's make it $1,000 - I'll throw in $250 for Hotrod182 to accept and beat Shiv's challenge. It actually sounds like fun!
Oh, congratulations and great times Hotrod182! |

Why can't people just grow up in general. Big deal about time slips and which tuner is best. Just insure your product will perform and be great quality thats all you need. Anything more is a waste of time.....
Tuners need to show more class, instead of making childish comments.

The technology "argument" between Shiv and Terry's products reminds me of US and USSR's technology war.
US had most resources and the most advanced solutions... US built striker jets that required perfect air fields that where microscopic clean - the russian jets could land as long as the field was somewhat straight... In space a pen was required - US spent millions on a special space pen - the russians used a pencil... A tune must be judged by: -Price -Power -Install -Safety/Long term engine usage -Driveability -Adaptability to changing hardware and fuel configuration -User support Whats more in it? Honestly, do you care about what gear your ISP is using in the network as long as your line is fast and reliable? /Tobias |

Showdown at the OK corral?
Get real, why don't we call out Osama Bin Laden while we're at it.

You know what I'm bummed about, is nobody runs at the 1/4 mile track on pump 91-93 Octane anymore.
It's great that Warren got 117 mph on the 104 Octane, but as he stated the minute he left the track he needed to dump in 91 Octane, so the 117 was great from bragging rights, but useless to know what the car will run IF you come across a "challenge" on the road. I know Warren ran the race map 16+ psi after he dumped in the 91 Octane, but I'd guess he still has some of the 104 Octane in there to make something over 91 Octane. But even so, it's impressive that the race map didn't induce limp mode with less than 95 Octane (and possibly below 93 Octane). I suspect the JB3 adjusted for that, even on the race map and dropped the psi down (to possibly around 15 psi), similarly how the standard maps adjust UP in psi based on octane and conditions. However, I'd guess under normal (a bit warmer than 50 degrees) and on true 91-93 Octane the race map would induce a limp or two occasionally. As impressed as I am with these race gas maps running 116-118 mph in the cars, unless you are like Down4it and a few others and run 100 Octane full time, it's kinda of irrelevant to have the dyno/track glory numbers only to go back to pump gas for your everyday life driving. I hope I can make the next 1/4 mile track day, so we can get a real world times on a tune only car on pump 91-93 Octane gas. What would be interesting too is for me and Warren to meet up again. Both on the same tune, both on pump 91 Octane and do some runs. I'm sure I'll see once again that his car is a ringer and will probably outperform mine (and every other normal 335i) even with the exact same tune, exact same octane gas, and exact same weight (since we both weigh within 10 or so lbs of each other). Time to meet up again Warren. |

Nope we both have autos, there's no driver skill involved with that (except in the initial launch) but I'm pretty good at that too. And even then it's not too hard to brake torque it up to 1600-1800 rpm release the brake and get on the gas. Then you simply keep the throttle planted and let the ECU do the shifting for the best times. A 16 year old girl could do well with just a couple practice times with the autos.
On the same Famoso track under MUCH worse conditions (DA of around 2500 feet) and with a LOT less power (PROcede v1.2 that made only 313 rwhp on 91 Octane) and on General Exclaim tires (not DR's or ET Streets) I pulled a 1.97 60' foot time. Warren is really good at launching his car on his "private" road by his house though (where he does all the VBox and GTech tests) as he's ran on that road hundred + times, to my 4-5 times. But were talking rolling races anyway. |

So immature and very unprofessional. You would think someone who has his own tuning company and has been tuning cars for awhile would be pretty mature and would be able to debate with people in a professional manner but no. "I'll bet this, I'll bet that" - you sure your name isn't 50 Cent, Shiv? Money isn't everything. |

Thanks, I work hard to collect meaningful data. Taking my Vbox to the drag strip, etc. I appreciate the support of this forum in being able to share this information. If it was the other way around, the other supporters would be making fun of my numbers. I still don't think I would be accusing them of using nitrous though!

Last night when I left the track I had 29 miles of range on my cluster. I then put in 12 gallons of 91 octane Texaco. I think the gauge showed a little over 3/4. The car did limp when the Suburu was trying to race me at 4000 Ft elevation, but what do you expect on a high boost map, on 91 octane?
Today, however, the map felt awesome. Did some 3rd gear pulls from 40-90mph, with no limps, just great acceleration. I know it is supposed to be run on 100 octane, but thought I would share anyways!
