Side Note
On a side note. Birds have been attacking my new baby with poops everyday. Today was the worst, 5 of them. It's been four days straight. These birds are relentless. I don't even park any where near trees. It must be because I have the nicest car in the parking lot
Any who, I read about this nice way of cleaning it up without spoiling your cars shine. I did the terrible mistake of trying to wash off pollen this past Sunday with just water, at 10 AM in the morning (85 degrees). Can you say water spots! Any who, I freaked out and didn't have time to give it a good wash. So the war these birds have waged against me forced me to break out the hose every day. More and more white water spots. So I tried this new thing. I use half a paper towel per dropping. I fold it 2-3 times. I completely soak it with water from the faucet. Cup it around the dropping. Leave it there for 12-15 minutes. When you pull the wet towels up most of the poop will be removed with it and you can dab away the rest. Since there's not that much water just pat the water left over with a dry paper towel. No more white water spots!! And its easy too. I know it's not new, but it was new to me last night when I read about it and it works great. So you can give your new car a nice wash every week and keep it looking nice with no spots if you have to clean up after the birds.

Very nice pics, Xeta. I've always loved BMW's in silver .... I just felt like I shouldn't have to pay money to get that color.
Update: My break-in period is done! I took a 1,000 mile round-trip jaunt this weekend with lots of varying speeds and shifting and crossed over 1,250 miles as I pulled into the driveway Sunday night! That redline hit this morning was very sweet indeed ... |

That's awesome news todd. I was joy riding today hoping to quickly get to 1200 miles. Still in the break-in period though. I have 500+ miles done. I plan on taking some kind of a mini-road trip this weekend and push the mileage up 700-800.
Any who on my drive today I accidently slipped the transmission into neutral and revved the engine to 6k RPM. Opps. I thought I was in DS mode at the time and wanted to down shift to pass a car. I'm sure I can get away with breaking 4.5k for the second time. I left off the gas for a few seconds and shifted it back to drive. I really can't wait until this break-in period is over, I just want to be able to run the engine to 5.5-6k RPM when I'm accelerating.

On the 330xi, the 158 wheels come with the sport package as well as the sport seats (I really like these seats) and a different steering wheel (probably no big deal). Just passed the 1200 mile break in period, and I'm starting to let 'er fly now and then. Pure delight!

Nice pics tripman. I just cross 900 miles today, only 300 more left. I have felt the car "opening up" as it were. I hear around 12,000 miles your BMW completely opens up and its like driving a different car.
