Before I had the BMW and lived in New Malden; the Waitrose Car Park there used to scare the 5hit out of me..you get little Korean ladies driving Mercedes S Class / Lexus LS400s which made it look like an episode of Knight Rider because said ladies were so petite you don't actually see them driving LOL. Watching an S Class reverse with seemingly no one in the driving seat is a scary experience. So yes I try and order my shopping online nowadays
![]() As to the other discussions about manners I do agree in this day and age basic manners has sadly gone down hill..and one wonders what is fuelling all the road rage with all this congestion and lack of manners etc..This is not only about driving but applies to the internet also..when people are on the road or expressing themselves on the internet some display the rudeness and arrogance that they won't dream of doing in a normal environment, sad but true... Also, the amount of people that don't put thier hand out to thank you as a courtesy gesture..I mean I've seen people putting on make up, have a shave, eat a Ginster's Pastie and pick thier nose while driving, is it really that much effort to stick your hand up to thank someone when they give way to you??

If you park in a disabled spot, just make sure you put a good limp on when you get out of the car.

I am actually classed as diabled under DDA becuase of my diabetes but I dont have a physical impairment! I only do it of course if there are several spaces if there are like one or two of course not!! I also use the "family" bays-they have plenty of space!!

Rockit-understand your issues but like I said I only do it if there are plenty of spaces available and for short periods and I am actually very likely to need one when I am older as diabetes can get bad as I get older and I will need one. My grandfather is also physically disabled so I do understand your views if I prevented him or anyone else from accessing a space Just no need to call me "selfish" as I dont know you and you dont know me Thanks

yes its dangerous ground! I must admit I thought the pedestrian walkways were safe but after witnessing a poor old chap trying to drive down one and bump the front ends of each car and then wedge his between the concrete pillars I am now not so sure!! I couldn't beleive what I was watching but he looked so frail and shaken I felt bad for him and everyone pointing and laughing!

i'm another one who tries to park next to a kerb / flowerbed etc one side as close as possible - or i'll try and park as far away from everyone else as possible!
I hate small spaces - especially some central london car parks... our work place is awful really tight spaces |

It may be a bit gay but our Jimny is THE choice for supermarket car parks.
It's tiny, we don't care if it gets dinged, it's all plastic on the bottom half and it has a near London Cab turning circle. Not massive inside (!) but the seats fold so you can fit all but the biggest items in it. |

My wife gets really annoyed that I'm always looking for the perfect space to park in. 99% of the time I've got the toddler with me so I can park in the parent and child spaces but it took me ages to find a decent space in Gatwick long stay - nearly missed the plane!!!!

I have another car which i use to go to these places, I have had too many dings, scratches and trolley marks on my cars over the years. What gets on my tits is, one major supermarket which we carry out work for employed some git to figure out how they could increase volume in terms of heads in the store, they came up with calculating the length of each parking row, take off 4-6 inches and slot in a car park bay at the end, accomodates another car which in turn can lead to another head in the store potentially purchasing something (store at full capacity of course0. Then thats when they fired up the 'park at your own risk signs'.
If I need to park in these places, I park out the way where possible, take up 2 spaces, NEVER use disabled spaces but I have used the parent and child spaces if it is not busy. Also to add, some one stated thay the P&C spaces are sited so that theyhave less distance to go...Pish...our local tesco has them sited in 2 complete rows, the end ones are closer to the main road than the store building.

I've never had the balls to park across 2 spaces, but I will choose the most protected space I can find - beside a wall or bollard if I can. If there's no protected spaces, I'll look for the nicest car with a space next to it, in the hope the other driver has a modcum of respect for their car and mine.

Takes a while to get mine limp - may as well spend the time walking from a further spot with no other parkers.

I find that if you pop the old soldier out (limp or othewise) before getting out of the car, nobody questions you about parking in the disabled bay.

Well, Ed, with their jaws dropped to the pavement their capacity for speech is greatly inhibited.
