Will be in touch with Matt, that water park looks a good starting point though.

Are you keen for a night out as well Steve?

Been giving a bit of thought to the meet. The following link gives you a map with a few possibilities

LINK

Thought is to meet at a viewpoint just outside Cheltenham. Direct access to the A417 for those coming up from the M4 to cut the corner off, a short hop up the bypass from the M5 for you northerners and just off the A40 for the London boys.

From there a drive throught the countryside to put us over on the A38, where there are three good pubs in close proximity (and more nearby) with plenty of parking for a spot of lunch.

From there drift east over to the cotswold water park in the hope that the sun is out and we can get some shots like booforty and I did before.

The a short run up to Cirencester and back across to the common outside Stroud. On top of the hills to catch the light for a few more photos or just stop for an ice cream.

Then a trundle off to hotel / evening meal. Depends really on where people want to stay and what they want to eat as to where. Maybe adjust early route to get them checked in as well.

A few possible eateries also put on the map, as well as local hotels, of the travelodge / premier inn variety.

Got some meet-up times for us? Is that meeting spot a former roadway turned into a parking lot?

What do you plan to do about Birmingham?

Birmingham is beyond our capabilities to fix.

How's about some of you boys who are travelling a long way suggest the meet time. Ideally want everyone there by about 11:00~11:30 to head off to get some grub, but appreciate that means an early start for some.

I'm less than an hour away so start time is irrelevant for me. Somewhere between 10 and 11 is fine. The drive and suggested stops all look good. Should be a good day out.

I have had a quick scout for hotels, this seems to pretty cheap, just outside the town centre and has a decent size car park.

http://www.barcelo-hotels.co.uk/hote...am-park-hotel/

Booking through www.hotels.co.uk a single room with breakfast comes in at £24.00.

Um I've stayed there before... well, at least I almost stayed there. Got to the room, saw what a mess it was, didn't look like it had been cleaned for two years, bathroom was dirty. I was given another room, and that was even worse The reception people just shrugged and said take it or leave it. There was another couple at the reception when I went back down, complaining that it felt like the bed had bedbugs... I walked straight out and stayed in a Travelodge-type thing

There's a reason it's £24 for a single
