As for the sport package deal...

It's not as simple as pay them. It's intense hacking.
well one good news so I guess I'm not going to buy the M tech wheel that I had in mind and wait for real oem to upload the parts # to order the 335 steering wheel I may have to go to a local shop to get that wheel wire it sounds a little hard to do.

as for the intese hacking I guess I'm F*** then because no offence but went I go to that dealer with a problem they don't seen to know what they are doing

well I guess that if I want to add the 335 wheel with the paddle shifters I have to wire the paddle shifters to the transmission.

I'm not sure about your dealer you don't look dumb at all. but this guys are, for example I took my car to the dealer because the door handle was peling off and they painted they did not even change it.
then I went again to ask how much was to install the new ipod retrofit and they told me 5 hours of labor , yea right!
and then I ask one the tech guys if he could tell me what color is the speed wire ( I want to add a after market HUD http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=34622 ) and he says that the new 3 series don't have a any! I'm afraid of takeing my car for the oil change they may forget to put the filter on or to close the cap properly

BTW: I just realise that I'm really off topic we start talking about halo lights and now I end up talking about paddle shifters

Actually cal... There is no "speed wire".

It's all just data, transmitted on the same two wires, between a bunch of modules and sensors. In order for your aftermarket HUD to read that speed signal, it'd have to be able to decode the signal language that the car is communicating in.

As far as painting your handle... that was a managerial decision. We don't stock those door panels, we have to order them, which takes 1-3 days. My guess is that he just had it painted to get your car back to you more quickly.

and 5 hours labor to install the ipod is correct. That doesn't mean it's going to TAKE 5 hours (probably MUCH longer, with the programming involved), but that's the Flat Rate we charge. usually about 3 hours labor to install all the components, then about 2 hours labor to retrofit and program the whole car.

They weren't being idiots. You just didn't understand them.

If you asked me a question in english, and I responded with, "well, Calvino..." and then gave the correct answer in Farsi, and you don't understand Farsi, you'd probably think I was dumb, or at least ignorant, right?

touche !!! however on the instalations instructions of the ipod kit it says 1.0hours

so if the car does not have a speed wire that means that I can't add the HUD? what is the language of the car? German

bad dude I did the installation today and I was confident that is was going to work but the computer got me, so I wire everything and I was testing it today, it work at daytime no problem you just turn the car on wait 10 seconds so the computer check the bulbs and then press the switch and the lights turn on it looks great BTW but as night falls the sensor turn on the headlights the error show up I turn the switch off to make the error go away and guess what it did not work I got home and I found out that went I join the 2 halos 1 single switch it also shows up a error, I guess current flows from one halo to another and that cause the error the only solution will be two switches but that is going to be more complicated. so it can be done but you will need two switches one for each halo.

I'm sure there is another way arround but I will have to find it out.

I got a kit at wal-mart that was plug and play for headlights and driving lights it came with the relay the switch a fuse box and all the cables

so what do I need to make it work matt??? I know that if I turn the switch off as soon as the headights go on it will make the error go away

If having the angel eyes connected to each other caused a problem, then you have to wire them seperately, with a multiple throw relay.

this might be a dumb question, but as far as the night time error goes, is that only when you use the "auto" feature? what happens if the headlights are in the off position, and then when it gets dark you turn them to the on position? when I get my 2007 328xit, I will want to have the angel eyes on all the time, and I was already thinking of just running a wire to something that is always on when the car turns on, and if I have to run a separate wire from each headlight, i will do so to prevent the error!

lol.. I think Calvino gave up!

There is another thread, titled "Corner Delete Mod" in which we are making serious progress on this mod though. They found some new ways to go about it, that I hadn't thought of.
