I am in business myself and for anything that is a special order, I ask for half the deposit and obviously I let the customer know that there is no refunds if the order is placed and being produced....For regular items that are out of stock, I ask only for a minimal deposit and if they decide to cancel the order before the item gets shipped to my warehouse, I refund the money no questions ask...Reason being REGULAR items I stock in my warehouse, why would I refuse the customer their refund on items that I carry all year round!!
I spoke to my sales staff and none of them told me they said this to a customer nor is it our policy and has never been to disallow refunds or cancels on products like this. Here is my post from page 5.

"Of course you or anyone else can get a refund if you change your mind. I'm not sure who you were talking to, but our policy is to always offer a refund if you change your mind or want to cancel.

We have already sold through both the first and part of our second batch. The reason we take the deposits is to ensure those people on the list are serious which allows them to lock a place in line as we already have over 25 orders for these. We will charge the remaining $500 once we ship them out.

Did you order this directly from us at 503-256-5600 or through one of our vendors?

Take care,
Chris."

Questions

for those of us who dont have factory FMIC, what other parts do we have to buy from dealer in addition to your IC? Without the factory one installed, what will be the procedures? is it still a DIY?

If you have a 335i WITHOUT a factory FMIC, I suggest you return your car ASAP...

I spoke to a person named Chris....If you have another Chris taking orders then so be it...I explicitly asked him about the refund and was told there was no refunds if I decided to cancel the order on the FMIC...I am very competent to know what was stated to me because I made sure I asked that question two to three times saying that I can't believe I will lose my refund if I decide I changed my mind...If that is not company policy, then I guess there was a mis-understanding and thats no problem...I will call later to place the order if thats the case..

all of the cars that BMW produces with the N54 motor have a FMIC. Do you have a 335xi or a 328xi?

The way you stated your question it makes it seem like you don't know that every 335 has a fmic..if a car is turbo charged the air needs to be cooled prior to it being returned to throttle body/ intake..but this part will fit all 335...no other parts are needed.

Just spoke to Dave and it seems as though one of his sales reps doesn't know HPF sales policy and returns!! lol The funny thing is that I called twice and both times it so happened to be the same sales rep that gave me the wrong info!! lol I got it all squared away and everything is good....Glad to see that a vendor of their magnitude has policy that are up to standards....I ordered it!! Thanks Dave
BTW...damn 25 pre-orders already!

+1...I ordered the fmic and that policy was what I was told during my purchase..I spoke directly to David and Chris both of whom were very polite and with out a doubt earned a loyal customer. I think customer service is their forte they even had a pretty in depth questionaire asking them about their service and it even provides a link to go back and change it after you receive your product. Great company and crew over at HPF.

I've been receiving a bunch a great questions via PM about how the HPF intercooler will work with our various stages of turbo systems. Here are some answers to those questions.

HPF FMIC Usage with factory piping

Those that are using our intercooler to boost the performance of their factory piping 135, 335 or 535 should use our FMIC with c-clip couplers. These intercoolers simply clip in as shown in the video on the first page of this thread.

HPF FMIC Usage with HPF Stage 1 Turbo System

The HPF stage 1 turbo system to be released in May includes our "end user tunable" engine management system (to be announced), HPF plug-n-play harness, HPF exhaust system, drop in air filter and the HPF FMIC with c-clip couplers. This kit is designed to maximize the stock twins potential while still retaining the factory IC piping. If you already have the FMIC with c-clip couplers then you can purchase the remaining stage 1 kit components separately when the kit is released.

HPF FMIC Usage with HPF Stage 2 Turbo System

The HPF stage 2 turbo system to be released this time next year will include all of the HPF stage 1 components "plus" our HPF intake manifold, HPF exhaust manifold with T4 flange for single turbo, A 67 series turbo, an aftermarket BOV (TBD), our HPF fuel rail and injectors, fuel pump, and new IC piping for the hot and cold side along with 5-ply silicon couplers and T-bolt clamps. For those that purchased the FMIC already in the earlier stage with the c-clip inlet and outlet flanges, they can simply ship it back to us and we will weld on the correct stage 2 inlet and outlet "beaded" flanges for free. For those going directly to stage 2 at this time, we will supply the intercooler with the correct stage 2 inlet and outlet flanges.

Anodizing

Anodizing is $100 extra. If you have any other questions, please call David directly at 503-256-5600 X103 or email him at david@horsepowerfreaks.com.

Thanks.
Chris.

Nice, thanks for the update, and for the estimated time of completion. I'm very curious to see how your products perform. From what I've seen in the past I don't think I'll be disappointed

would a upgraded intake manifold yield more power out of the OEM snails or there needs to be a turbo upgrade with the manifold?

Thanks Chris for giving us a timeline on the development of your single turbo upgrade. I'd also like to know if your manifold can squeeze more power out of the stock twins.

An upgraded intake manifold isn't necessary unless you're planning on making a lot more power. Our intake manifold has fuel rail mounting points and injector bosses which will allow a secondary fuel system to be run removing the limit of the factory direct injection.

That's a great timeline Chris! Can't wait for 2011 to arrive with all these additional turbo options!
