I can't tell if you're joking, or not. If not, then I wonder if this is the turbo you're talking about...

The blue car in the background looks like an S4, and the one next to it maybe an old school e28?

They have a bunch of kits already made. We are sending the ones I got on ebay to them for a core-exchange refund. They aren't going to refab that specific set I'm sending for my use - a different set of upgraded turbos are already in the mail and should be here by tomorrow (if they shipped out yesterday) or monday at the latest (if they ended up shipping today).

if all goes as planned and they finish up a project they're currently working on this week, my car should be under the knife this coming week.

There will be LOTS of information coming, don't worry Like I said, we're waiting to hear back from their technical/marketing/sales people to see what exactly we're allowed to say at this time.

You have no way of telling how mature this project is with the info I've posted so far... All the beans will be spilled soon, I was just too excited - had to post something

Lol... I'm joking about the Mazda bit. I figured I'd just add to the confusion. Truth is that I have not even seen these turbos and am just as excited as everyone else in seeing how they work.

My shop and I. The shop has a very close relationship with this company... as soon as they give me the go-ahead I'll tell all I can.

Hey JPSimon,
will you keep the stock internals with this upgrade? Do you think you will max out the CFM power of the new turbos?

Garrett twin scroll will be awesome

Keep us posted.

JP, I'm very interested in your upgrade, I am currently in the process with Turbo Dynamics / UK.

To be comparable, your upgrade should:

- enlarge turbine wheel
- enlarge compressor wheel
- fix wastegate issue, especially for those turbos with 6mm actuator rods

Seriously, I expect that the 8mm rods/wastegate version also need to be overhauled/replaced/enhanced related to wastegates issues. My current turbos in the car are pretty mint, low milage on those, latest design of course and still ratteling, even not that much like the 1st set of turbos.

In addition, a ballbearing upgrade would be very welcome. However, ballbearing upgrades are known for more oil-consumption of the engine.

Let us know about the scope, the details, not the company performing the upgrade. BTW, I wish you all the best with your project. Covering the installation costs is already a big commitment to a turbo upgrade ( about US$2200 where i live ). Plus turbos, plus upgrades. I expect total costs of ~ US$6100 for the turbo upgrade ( 2 good turbos plus upgrading and installing them ) . No tune included. I will keep my current turbos, so no core exchange. We are talking serious.

thats a nice chunk of change but if the new turbo's are measurably better, well worth it with this car

best of luck

BTW, nobody seems to care about the stock wastegate actuators capability. It is not unusual that they will be upgraded as well for higher boost. Any thoughts ?

yes i am serious about my turbo upgrade and am waiting for the result from TD at the moment. i don't want to go necessarily bigger turbos. more reliable turbo without rattle/whining willl be good enough for me. i would like to push it to maybe 18~19 psi at the most but nothing more than that as potential of our engine block is still unknown...
