Kind of lame that the USA already beat Canada 5-3, yet Canada beating them 3-2 gets them the medal. I guess that's how it goes when you're the host nation, kind of like all the stuff that went in China's favor at the 08 Olympics.

Pretty ignorant comment. You obviously have no clue at all what you are talking about.

Exactly. It no different then any sport in the Olympics. The first can/usa game was to decide who was going straight to the semi finals. Canada lost so they had to work their way into the semi finals.. I dont see how this was unfair at all.

Either way, it was an awesome game!

Congrats to Team Canada for the Gold, and to Team USA for the Silver. I was hoping they'd choke in overtime when Team USA tied it up with less than 25 seconds left in regulation. Oh well, that is how the puck breaks sometimes. Canada was 6-1 and USA was 5-1. Sadly for the USA, that one loss is the one that mattered the most. In either case, the two best teams played for Gold.

Overall, Canada is the #1 hockey team in the Olympics:
8 Gold, 4 Silver and 2 Bronze. (14 total)

Team USA's record has almost always been "the bridesmaid but rarely the bride."
2 Gold, 8 Silver and 1 Bronze. (11 total)

The old powerhouse, the Soviet Union* looks like this:
8 Gold, 2 Silver and 2 Bronze (12 total)

*Includes USSR prior to 1988, CIS in 1988 and Russia in 1998 and 2002.)

The Soviet Union/CIS/RUS combo is now tied with Canada for most Golds, but I don't count many of their victories because I don't believe they were truly following the rules of the Olympics at the time. Prior to 1988, all Olympians were supposed to be amateurs. I think the Soviet Union had maybe one amateur player on any of their teams, and he was the towel boy!

But I don't question these types of results because there is no subjective judging involved, but I do think there is a "home country" bias to any event that involves judging. It happened in Vancouver, it happened in Beijing, it happened in Salt Lake, it just happens. I'm sure we'll see it again in London and Sochi too.....

Yeah, I'm really trying to be "tough" by making Canadian jokes.

You need to relax JUST a touch... these comments aren't meant to be taken too seriously, but apparently you didn't get that memo.

Well there is nothing funny about poking our country. We are a friendly nation and we like our friends. We welcome every one with a open heart and open arms. That doesn't mean that you take run at us.
We are as Patriotic as any one else.
See your comments....Being Ameraica's hat?
It looks like you are the one who can't digest the fact that USA lost to Canada fair and square.

Yeah cuz I'm debating that you guys cheated somehow or it was a fluke, right? Can you show me where that post was again cuz I can't seem to find it.

Again, a little joke and your reaction just speaks volumes to you feeling inferior to the USA. Ya know Bob Costas just said "Canadians have always had a great talent of being able to laugh at themselves"... maybe it's not true for all of you. I don't know what your problem is, why you feel the need to be all touchy about this but for everyones sake of this not getting too far out of hand, I'm just gonna let it go and move on, I suggest you do the same.

Congrats on your country's medals and fantastic job hosting the games. This has been my hands down favorite Winter Olympics thus far and I am actually really looking forward to traveling up to BC either this upcoming winter or the next because its such a beautiful place.

If you don't mind now, I'm gonna go enjoy the closing ceremonies with a beer and a fillet.
