Shiv, can you tap into the iDrive system. When you announced the "In Dash Display" I thought of how nice would it be for us Nav system owners. I figured you could, as the bottom portion shows the same info the "In dash displays" show (time, gas, date, codes, etc).

probably not going to be idrive, as quite a bit of the user base don't have this option. Does the dev car even have it?

I bet they got a hacked or new tuner tab that displays all the essentials. Could you make an analog gauge on the screen?

That would be pretty freaking amazing! It'd be like having a real-time view of all the data thats available when hooked to a laptop.. but on the display in the car.

To do that seems like a ton of work though and I doubt its even possible without updating the embedded software that is iDrive.

Pesonally I'd like to be able to read any tuner codes directly on the dash, even if they can only be displayed in Decimal format. Then I could cross reference them to Shiv's chart to check them in Hex................this would save us having to hook up a laptop to read them.

If he modified the iDrive screen to somehow mimic the dash displays that the R34 and R35s have... that'd be so nasty. Pre-09 iDrive would still be considered a piece of shit but this would give it some redeeming qualities.
