I think that's pretty much considered a clean in stall. At least by my books.

I'm posting this from my brother's iPad that was delivered this morning. It is a lot more interesting than I thought it would be, but I'm still on the fence about it.

Typing actually isn't as big of a deal as I though it would be. *shrug*

I still feel like I'd have to make a better case to myself before dropping the coin on something like this though. I can see how this might be an attractive item for certain people (like if you travel a lot), but for me it just doesn't have the functionality that I'd need to abandon my laptop.

Anyway, I'm ramble/typing.....

Typing this on my iPad. It's definitely great for browsing and consuming media.

I was able to delete apps for specific sites like the Facebook app because the browser is 100x more usable now. And if you ever had a problem with the iPhones keyboard, it's much better now that every key is 1x1 sq in.

It's worth a look.. For me, it's a netbook, a kindle, a PSP, a iPod touch, and a digital picture frame. (I don't have any of those, and won't buy them now.

Actually.. it rocks!

I like it a lot so far. Just needs Flash for the browsing to be perfect. Typing is pretty easy if you're used to typing on an iPhone or a Blackberry.

So many websites use Flash anymore that not having it on my iPhone is really annoying. I think this continues to be Apple's big mistake, especially if the iPad doesn't have it either. Just another example (in my opinion) of Apple's lack of "consumer-centric" practices and arrogance.

i played with one today, interface and keyboard are much improved over the iphone and the big screen is nice, but again I really fail to see an actual need for me to have one over laptop - but ill prolly get one once they come out with a decent screen protector...

Flash is not the future. Most of major sites are converting into HTML5 now.

Name one major site that has converted fully to HTML5? Some major sites do have HTML5 coding and detect when an Apple device connects and shows them videos using that standard, but they still use for Flash for every body else.

And, it is my understanding that HTML5 isn't even fully spec'd yet. And any conversion is going to be many years down the road. In the meantime, they should just make Flash work on iPhone and iPad, and hell, Mac OS for that matter. But this isn't about technology or even capabilities, it's about Steve Jobs ego and his personal dislike of Adobe and Flash.

Steve Jobs has even claimed that running Flash on the iPad would bring battery life from 10 hours down to 1.5 hours. Funny, Flash doesn't seem to affect netbooks or laptops in such dramatic fashion.....

In any case, the popularity of the iPhone and potential popularity of the iPad will likely cause some changes to the 'net. But Safari is still a very distant 4th place in terms of browser market share, with IE holding nearly 61% and the 'Fox near 25%.

Somewhat related, I'd rather have Firefox on my iPhone than Safari, but that isn't a choice I get to make either...

So do you mean these sites are not fully HTML5?

http://www.apple.com/ipad/ready-for-ipad/

I'm not a programmer and pls educate me on this. These sites are awesome on iPad. CBS is one of my fave.

Any of your input will greatly appreciated.
