You can retrofit the M3 DCT paddles straight on a E9x sports steering wheel with push/pull paddles. No modifications are necessary. Takes about 20 minutes to do. Cost is around £190 per paddle though !!!!!!!!!

Come on Anneka - get the workshop to whip a couple of LED markers out of an LCI car and pop em into a non-Lci E92 and see if they work

Oh, and then offer a forum group buy as I reckon you will sell loads of sets!
I'm in for a group buy! I'm about to buy some from the States, but would prefer to have the BMW ones if they work.

I can't see the problem, it isn't that difficult to remember +/-

What about taking yours off and getting them laser etched

Are you refering to the style which has the black rubbery inserts?

The lights and paddle shifts are not available on the system at present, there aren't any retrofit kits available for pre-LCI's either.

There aren't any retrofit kits available, because according to BMW UK it's not possible to put M3 paddles (+/-) on a regular push/pull setup. As you will expect me to say, that's bollox...!

The solution is just to buy the parts and fit accordingly

I'd be up for the M3 ones but £190 a paddle is a little bit difficult to justify.

The system won't let us order the LCI E92 paddles yet specifically, they appear to require different parts depending on the type of steering wheel too.

The functionality is more interesting though, i.e. the right for up left for down configuration, I don't know if some re-wiring would allow this to be achieved on cars with pre-LCI paddle shifters?

You can achieve this on pre LCI paddle shiffters already too by just altering the wiring. Alan had a diagram on the forum somewhere on this. I could have done the same with my paddle shift but went for the OEM style. Its simple. So its easily achievable pre or LCI. But its about getting the parts for a good price to make the retrofit feasable...

Re-wiring is easily done.

Exactly. £380 seems a bit of a joke for a set of paddles. £150 would be more like it.

I saw one in my local sytner when i dropped the car in the other day. I much prefer my LCI E92, the bigger mirrors look daft and the 5 spoke alloys dont suit the car either.

Not a big fan of the eyebrow LED's, they look like something a 17 year old would stick on their corsa.

Only thing i would be interested in is the angel eye upgrade if available.

The salesman that sold me my last car saw me looking it at, told him not to be expecting me to swap mine out for the new LCI! Think BM have lost their way a bit with this one!

Thats fair enough but any chance of getting a tech to just try swapping a set over - it is literally a 10 minute job to undo the plastic covers and swap the bulbs over - then at least we know that if they do work all we need to do is get BMW to provide a part number and price to order them.

If they dont fit/work or throw an error code, we can all stop waiting and carry in fitting the cheap chinese imports off fleabay and suffering crackly FM reception
