There apparently is a small difference between a manifold an a header, at least on the exhaust side. I'm not exaclty sure but a factory car usually comes with an exhaust manifold and if you go aftermarket you can get headers. Semantics aside they are esentially the same.

328 owners: if you have an N52N, this mod will most likely work. The engine block pistons and exhaust manifolds are the same as a 330. The rest of the exhaust will have no bearing on software tuning. If you have an N51 you already have a 3-stage intake manifold but your compression ratios are different so this will not work. However, you can just get aftermarket software and get more power with the engine you have. You can go to www.realoem.com and compare the part numbers to double check.
PBX owners: Using this in conjuction with aftermarket engine software is not a good idea. It's like saying, "I want an AFE intake and a Gruppe M intake." That will probably not work out well. Aftermarket tuners can tune the throttle for you. Also, ECU will most likely adapt out the tuning from the PBX if you go with aftermarket tuning.

Ok, lemme get this straight. The software is`nt custom software, it is the powerchip 330 tuning software. When you slap the intake in and do the software the disa valves operate just like a 330?

It's been mentioned in this thread that the DISA valves will work like the 330i with the stock 325i software.

Some people reported flat spots in the full throttle acceleration. This can be fixed with software. |

Any different software we could buy? Anything cheaper than the powerchip that works with the 325? |

Both cars use the same ECU.

So, basically what I will need to do is to order the intake manifold and install it myself-- that will gain 8hp... And get the powerchip which will give me a total of extra 30hp. Am I right? I was being a bit confused after reading all six pages..

actual hp gains are prob somewhere between 3-6 hp from an intake, although some claim 10 hp like the injen, but i don't remember if this is actual, and i have heard that there is also some loss at a certain RPM. ( i have bmw perf intake FWIW. ) and this MOD would 100% NOT be affected by different intakes or exhausts, except for perhaps helping in power gains. so there won't be any problems springing up from varying set-ups. |

i just typed 11617559523 into realoem and its showing this part is for both 330 and 328.
heres the e90s it says: E90: Details on E90 E90 328i Sedan E90 328xi Sedan E90 330i Sedan E90 330xi Sedan is it possible the 328s already use the manifold? perhaps with downgraded software which is why it only has 15hp over the 325 rather than the 30hp of the 330 |

And would therefore be ineligible for this swap?
Which models came with this engine?
