forgot to add this. I've got an 01 Lexus GS430 and its pretty quick but now the V6 07 Lexus GS350 is faster. that's how the M3 guys must feel. I feel your pain M3 owners. hence why I bought an Evo. :-D

Oh boy... butt hurt? lol. I can sell or trade in my M3 and get a 335i with mods anytime I want. What's your point? Butt hurt? Please. If I honestly felt butt hurt and thought the 335i was a better car, I would have gone in and got it. Maybe even have kept the M3 and got a 335i as a daily driver. So don't be puttin that "butt hurt" crap to my face. I'm only trying to get the facts straight. Which is... a STOCK M3 will beat a STOCK 335i in a straight line and around a track. That's it!! That's what the OP was asking. Nothin about tuning potential for less $$ crap either.

And you know what? Proceded 335i's are slow. M3's are slow. If you want real power and real speed and a fast drag car, you bought the wrong car.

lol Raider my thoughts exactly. this has turned into a pissing contest. honestly guys, one of you lives in the bay area, the other lives in long island, the odds of you two meeting and fighting are slim to none. you two must be really bored if you're just going to sit there and argue with each other. this is pretty much how it pans out, M3 = race car, 335i = street car. So, i guess you two will be at odds until BMW releases an M335i which revs to 8000rpm, has 400hp and 400ft-lbs of torque at near idle, and is as smooth to drive on the street as well as a killer bee on the track. does that sound accurate?

I have an E46 M3 (I'm the one in the videos racing the 335), & I will be getting my 335 sedan in 4 weeks. I will be able to give an unbiased opinion of both. But the M3 really is much more of a sports car with much sharper reflexes.

The 335i is faster 1/4 mile than an e46 m3. Im not trying to be a dick but i have seen it at LACR. It is just fact. The M3 might take it from 120 to say 160 but not in the 1/4.

socal, that can be chalked up to a better driver not necessarily a faster car. lets put it this way. if you go on LS1Tech.com theres a gentleman there named Ranger who owns a LS7 Corvette Z06 and being the only mod(drag radials instead of stock eagle f1 supercar tires), hes managed a 10.85 ET. I bet that car in the hands of another driver not as skilled might only pull a mid to low 11. So we can agree that the M3 vs 335i is pretty much a drivers race but if the M3 is driven well then it should win since it is a slightly lighter car and has more power.
