Ok...I guess no go on small claims court, not enough to go on to make this worthwhile. I spoke to the secret service to make a report. They advised me to make a formal complaint with the county (number was given). Again, not fully encouraging.
So I guess I'll just leave it to the insurance cos for now and set aside some dough for the inevitable. There is cosmic balance, that biatch will receive her come uppance one fine day F1 reminded me about karma, I'm cool about the situation now. Thanks again for all your support

Boo
My windshield needs replacement. This week is costing me beaucoup dollars I learnt that our windshield has a condensation sensor in addition to the rain sensor. The condensation sensor alone is not transferable and costs about 100 bucks. Does anyone know if the standard windshield for the 325i is UV coated, in addition to the green band?

Be sure they don't try and stick you with aftermarket stuff. I have had mixed experiences with that. Some just aren't quite right...ever. Back when my kids were small, we had a Volvo wagon and some shithead kid threw a brick through the windshield. That was twelve years ago, we were living in an apartment and money was tight. That freekin windshield was $1000 bucks for the OEM part. My deductible was $750. Lesson learned. I hope you don't get hosed like I did. I still get pissed thinking about it. I found out two years ago in a passing conversation with my now adult daughter that it was some boy she rejected and took it out on mom and dad. I'm now wondering if she used us as her scapegoat. "My mom and dad don't want me talking to you anymore!" next thing you know, I got a red paver hanging in my new cars windshield! P.S. I had nothing useful to offer as far as your questions were concerned, so I figured I would make it all about me!

Thanks Mr. F1 for sharing...
Yes, I'm with Geico as well. The thing is I only noticed the crack on Friday morning, I could've have sworn I had not seen it the day before. Strange. Geico works with safelite and that's where I went. The tech who was actually pretty cool mentioned they would and could push for OEM especially given the MY of the car. They recommend the OEM, so I'm going with it. My comprehensive deductible is $250 but at this rate I'll look into lowering it to $100 at the next renewal. This is the first cracked windshield in as long as I can remember. I'll keep your story in mind if I ever have a daughter cheers...

$250 is not bad, I know you may not drive as much as I do and clearly I must have a special tractor beam which attracts road hazards flying through the air. Conversely, (knock on wood) I don't seem to have problems with wheels and tires getting torn up by road hazards, so I guess I should be thankful for that!

I've been thinking about the overlays, glad you brought it up. When you have the time let's fool around with those. I'm leaning on the etched/frosted or silver CF materials
