it's either more and/or longer retard during the shift probably. Longer retard may help MT timing post shift also. Can we experiment with this sometime?

Hi guys.
Sorry to be absent for so long, but I am in the middle of moving and have limited access to internet right now. Oh, and there is that damn day job too! It keeps interfering with my car. I ran a few logs earlier today and just sent them off to Shiv for analysis. After reading shiv's comments about how the problem needs active ignition correction I am slapping my head because I ran quite a few of them with zero ignition correction as that is what I have been running all along. Thought that would be more directly comparable......doh! In any case, please bear with me. I ran out of my race gas blend and it was midnight so I will fill up tomorrow and run some more logs for Shiv to analyze with me using the proper settings this time. But I gotta say, using high octane and low boost with zero ignition correction rocks. It was in the 90's here today and the part throttle response felt amazingly good considering the ambients. And this is with no meth! I promised Shiv I would not post results until he has seen them first, so please respect that he is working with me to try and get to the bottom of this issue. I give him a lot of credit and gratitude for doing so. |

The guy at Pro Racing fuel always talks my ears off for half an hour. That's reason enough to buy a meth kit right there! |

Question for Shiv:
I am guessing you are using DIC (dynamic ignition correction) to aim for the max set point post-shift... Will this fix if it works require us to run 100% IC regardless of boost for the fix to work? I don't care really as long as it's fixed, just curious.

I am getting about 3-4 degrees timing post shift consistently going into 4th gear. I think I will get meth regardless though. |

Shiv is MIA, and I am in the middle of moving so it's been tough for us to coordinate. I sent him a set of logs, but he couldn't open them, so I resent them. Between moving and having sporadic internet availabilty we kind of lost touch. There is still no 100% solution to the timing drop. There is an improvement in that it only drops to 3-4 degrees and then climbs, but it's still not like before the DME reflash. |

Getting timing to no flatline post shift 6AT was easily. Now timing is in the 4-5deg range, ramping up from there. Which is would actually translate to an aggressive target of 1-1.5 which is spot-on for pump gas applications. Having more advance is also going to be easy. Just working out the logic for it now. Having it all wrap together with the current ignition timing logic will take some additional thought/testing.
