Nothing to report yet. I have ordered the cable for a reputable company out of china (cough) and I got the software image off a torrent site. I'm still waiting for the cable to come and ill check in when that happens. So far I've only spent $135CAD for the cord.

Good stuff man. Just be careful with when using the software. Lets just say, it isn't very "user friendly" and most of the time you have to find out where the codes are (the ones you are looking for).

Definately a great tool to have once you have mastered the coding procedure.

BJ Autohaus would NOT do DRL disable. Let's see the other thread and how much they're charging for the service.

Got the cable yesterday. I didnt want to dive into this last night so I just snapped a few pics of the cord and plugged it in the the OBD connecter to make sure it fits. When you insert it into the OBD a red light comes on, signifying that it is connected.

Mounted the INPA program and installed it as well. The version I have isn't compatable with 64 bit windows 7 but I got a few of the programs working. Thinking about trying it on 7 but if not I'll use my crappy HP netbook which runs XP.

When I got into my car this morning I had two error codes showing up. I havent looked them up in the manual yet but they are the 4x4! error and (!) error (both in yellow). Drove the car to work with the errors, shut the car off in the parkade and immediately restarted it.... no error codes. Weird.

I searched some coding topics and I am going to go through them today and tomorrow just so Im not so green when I actually connect this thing to my car. I plan on getting into it on the weekend. Ill let everyone know how it goes (or how it doesn't).

If anyone is following this here is a good link to all of the programs people are using for coding:

http://thepiratebay.org/torrent/4409...SS_CIP_TIS.rar

I'm assuming the tough part is learning how to use them.

so this program can let you unlock certain features like, open and close windows through fob, disable drls and stuff? Or is it just used for diagnostic purposes?

Okay, I've installed LED's for my angel eyes and installed the daeos harness. Took my car to Eurotech who use Autologic, thinking that they could easily turn off the ugly halogen drl's and they cannot do it. They've tried everything but they come back on again the next time the car gets fired up. (2007 335i BTW).

I've come way too far, with way too much effort to have to settle having the disgustingly ugly halogen drl's messing up the look of my LED's. Are there still shops that can turn them off for me? Help please anyone! hehe

UPDATE: So, I just went and picked my car up from Eurotech. The poor guys tried to make the change stick and worked on it for 8 hours! They were thinking it wasn't possible at all by the end. I cruise out to their shop to take my car home, a bit dejected. I go into the settings to put things back the way I like them and I see a new setting in there!.. the ability to turn DRL on/off, just like the US cars have. I turn it off. Sweet. Drive for a bit. Now the test, because they've told me that when you turn off the ignition and remove the key it resets the next time again. I test it... they're still off! After running around the city and testing this a few times over it's still working fine and my car's functioning as a US car fully, and of course I have the bright LED angel eyes as my DRL's. Success! Can't believe the extent that Eurotech went to to make this work. I'm very pleased to put this to bed now. Next on the list, the Autologic upgrade to my car's performance program!

They probably didn't realize it, but they actaully activated the DRL toggle switch through the BC stalk settings.

Coding will also do the trick.

They tried coding it--a million different ways, including being on the phone with Autologic in the UK. It would always reset itself. Indeed, I've read posts that seem to say that my year (and maybe 2008 as well???) are a real challenge with this. And they realized that they enabled it on the stalk, but again it would always reverse. I think that whatever they did the last time (reprogrammed all 32 modules, I think is what they said) did the trick, and then they tried to program that setting again, which reset itself yet once again. What they didn't try that one last time, apparently, was see if the stalk setting would make it stick--which apparently it did. But yeah, they knew it was on the stalk because it thinks it's a US car now.

Hi, which Eurotech is that? I found two on google, one in Richmond, the other in Surrey.

Euro Tech Automotive Ltd - 8-12880 Bathgate Way, Richmond - (604) 270-1318

Euro-Tech Services - 117-12414 82 Ave, Surrey - (604) 590-1478
