man, where are all these kids getting to money to buy this type of car?

it seems like everyday i see a new post saying that "hey i'm 9 years old and i just raped a porsche and a lamborghini! we were both going 120 in traffic. it was awesome:rocks:"

parents need to be more informed on the nature of a vehicle. if your kid is asking for a coupe with 300 twin turbocharged horsepower and a 6-speed manual, chances are he's going to race it.

i don't know, maybe i'm just ranting.

Our GTO actually ran a best of 13.47. Its a bone stock automatic. That is a very good time for that car. The 6.0 liter cars are all over the place ET/MPH wise. I'm not sure what the quickest time on record is, probably high 12s....

I think Bob's car was a little lighter then that but you are correct. And yes he did break just a few trannies!!

Bob is a good guy. Him and I have been posting on a lot of the Mustang and Fbody forums for a long time now....

If he had drag radials or AWD, he would have been faster starting in 1st.

If you don't have enough traction, the gears don't help. In 98 mustang cobra on STREET tires, 3.73 final drive was the fastest gear. You feathered the clutch out, and crossed the line at the top of 3rd gear. 13.5 in the 1/4 was a great time on stock tires.

Yup - totally agree. My stang has 4.10s, and while it's fun on the street it's not worth anything at the track unless I've got the DRs on. I've got Nitto DRs, and even with these I think I'd probably have a better ET with 3.73s (mostly because Nitto DR stink IMO.)

Gotturbo - nice pictures! The 3650 is a really odd transmission. Some folks seem to have all sorts of trouble with them; others not so much. While mine has been super-notchy from day one, it does have over 45 drag strip passes on it - most with power shifts - so I guess it is fairly strong.

Now if I could just convince MY wife to let me keep the stang and get a 335i! Ahhh, but I digress. . .

Out of the top 9, cars #6, 9 are MTs. Rest are ATs. Keep in mind that not all are stock.
