the 800 number is worthless once your vehicle reaches VPC. BMWNA does not have access to your vehicle status once it reaches VPC, if you speak to someone there they will tell you to contact your CA who may be able to get some additional information. The status change on the 800 number is a standard reset once the vehicle is discharged the 800 will tell you it is at VPC for 48 hours before resetting to "at the point of entry and waiting for a shipping vessel". No need to be concerned although I think the tracking process is absolute bullshi>> as you cant get any further info once your car is at VPC. As far as I know my car has been at VPC NJ since last Friday. The waiting process is agonizing and exacerbated when you know arrival is so close!

Just picked this up from somewhere else in this forum for others awaiting their 08's don't know if its true or not but wanted to share:
"I just heard this from my dealer: "We were just informed that BMW may not release the 2008 3 series until after Oct 1st." Makes no sense for them to restrict delivery but who knows! |

I talked to my dealer today, and she said that she is expecting a 2008 5 series at the dealership tomorrow. It reached NY on 21st.
Thus, I am skeptical about the so called no release until 10/1. Quote:

I absolutely hope you are correct...I am getting impatient waiting as well...to clarify I never mentioned anything about the 5 series reference was only made to the 3 series. My 3 series reached NYC on 9/22 via the Otello so I have been in VPC for 7 days now..my inquiry to VOB BMW in Gaithersburg, MD stated that I should expect Monday.

Actually my dealer said he got an email on Monday stating they were holding up the 3 series, but he got an update yesterday saying they were not holding the cars. It seems it is taking about a week from arrival to dealer (in NJ) from when the ship arrives.
However, he also said once it hits the NJ port there is nothing that can be done to speed up the process. Good luck all. Somewhere in NJ my new car sits waiting to be processed. (mine was discharged mid-day yesterday) |

When I last spoke to my CA about a week ago he told me to expect the car the first week in Oct the latest. I'm pretty set on it arriving around then, but anything sooner is a major plus.

Mine is a white 335i vert.
Same equipment plus automatic(yes I know that's just wrong-but I am lazy!), Sat radio, ipod adapter(should be nice with my iphone)
I didnt want all the equipment like the HD radio, or PDC, but they had a car on the water so it greatly sped up the process-white would not have been my first choice either, but again to wait three weeks versus three months it seemed worth it. |

There in
My dealer just emailed me saying my 2008 335 vert is at the dealership and should be ready for me to pickup tomorrow (Sat) afternoon. There was some confirmed confusion earlier in the week in regards to BMW releasing the 2008 335 models before Monday but this is obviously not the case. Good luck to all of you awaiting delivery of the finished product!!

I called my dealer to tell him somone with a vehicle on my vessel was getting his tomorrow and he said impossible.
He also is now telling me that any 3 series withiout Navigation are being held up at the port. It just gets better and better. Mine has Navigation |

He called this afternoon to tell me my car arrived on the lot. I don't see what benefit lying to me would have. I told him I wasn't in a rush to get the car until next monday since I am too busy to go tonight anyway. I know its the end of the month and all but still.
If they are still holding my car at the port it won't hurt my feelings either. I just don't see why my CA would misinform me about having it though. BTW mine does not have navigation. |

T minus five hours until scheduled pick up at dealership...I can't wait!!! I will post a pic or two for sure!! Anyone know of a good place to pick up some Hamann rims..I am not willing to pay the $10K freight that I have seen around the net..so might have to go used and/or reps. I love the look of the 3 piece rims...
http://www.statusautodesign.com/gallery.html How do you think those would look on a black sapphire with saddle? |
