Would love to know if the Audi/VW clip worked as well. My dear arm has play. Turbos are 5k miles new from dealer. Ugh.

Just FYI I couldn't find anything this weekend I think I want to try the fix where you tighten the bolt but I'm curious how long that fixes the issue before rattle comes back.

You have to be careful when you tighten the arm on the actuator, I over tightened mine(got no rattle! Lol) an threw a 30ff code, loosened it up an still threw it til I put it back to where it was

I have adjusted the bolt until I got no rattle, for about 20k miles now. However as of last week, I am experiencing extreme rattle again and my exhaust note is different, and I am unable to boost at times. Related or not I am unsure yet.

For anyone who has new stock turbos and has rattle, check this thread out, it helped me out. My logs looked like his "before" log in post #15.

Found a much cheaper source for the Audi clips at $19~ shipped. Unfortunately Aliexpress no longer ships to WA state.

Sorry to dig up an old thread, but did this clip end up helping to get rid of the rattle?

Impretty sure there as an extended turbo warranty for the rattle issue. If you have it they will replace your turbos. Not a recall but the next best thing to get new turbos, as long as you can show you have the rattle.
Also the rattle comes from many areas. The worst is the flapper valve being to close to the seat and too loose on decel, which is why the JB4 tune adjusts for it and fixes it in many cases. Other contributing factors is the wear of the bushing in the exhaust housing for the flapper valve which if its pretty worn the flapper valve shaft will rattle inside the housing in that bushing area. Another is how loose the WG actuator shaft is on the flapper valve arm outside the turbo held on by an E clip. |

I've had terrible wastegate rattle from my rear turbo for the last 5 months, car has 112xxx miles and been tuned with the JB4 G5 since around 75k. Problem just reared it's ugly had this winter. I used the JB4 menu to adjust the settings of the wastegates and while it helped some with the rattle the trade off in lag wasn't really worth it. So I finally got around to trying this JUST NOW and the rattle is pretty much gone. I even reset the wastegates to their original settings and it's sounds like stock again. Best $2.75 I've ever spent... thanks OP.
I'll update in a week or so to tell everyone how this is holding up. |

The new version on JB4 eliminates the rattle, I had the worst one and it's all gone now!
On e FUD you'd have to put in 98 though!

Are you referring to the latest JB4 update? Did you have the rattle during deceleration?

Yes the newest update, no rattling issues at all. My friends thought I got new turbos cause I would always complain I had the worst rattling. When installing the new software on FUD4 type 98 and then on the speedo go to 10 (100) and on the rpm side set t all the way to 5k.
