I have been told that the wiring of the shift for 2007 and 2008 models are different. Currently I own a 2007 model. Anyone in socal who owns a 2008 would like to help for the DIY?

I am selling my M5 SMG knob brand new. Any one interested? Since no one in socal can help for the testing, I need my $ for my other mods.

If anyone has a 07 e92 and wants to wire the smg knob themselves, shoot me a PM. I recently did the install myself and can provide the pinouts and which wires to tap into to get the knob to work. I am not 100% sure this will work on a e90 or an 08 model as I have not looked into it yet but you are welcome to try it out.
Basic wiring knowledge is a must. |

I cut the connector off of the smg knob and soldered leads to it directly. You can purchase the female connector that plugs into the knob at BMW but you will also need to purchase either the wires with the pins connected or purchase the pins and crimper. Both are expensive for what they are so I opted to just cut and solder since space is limited under the console.
