101 South between Kanan and Valley Circle was flooded with chp's today, mostly the white crown vics with gold shields on the side.

hey bro,

they were on the side of the road, both of them. It looked like they pulled someone over and thankfully weren't paying attention to traffic as I cruised by at 95mph on my way home from Calamigos Ranch

No ticket will ever get me to drill into my front bumper.....I don't even like the option that I've seen on some M6's that run a bracket attached to the front tow hook.......No front plate FTW!

I have found the best solution to putting on my front plate. It won't damage my paint / bumper at all and is very easy to remove if needed.

I tested it out today driving around and its very very stable even at high speeds.

I put a layer or two of painters tape where my front plate should go on the bumper. Then i just double sided the front plate on top of the painters tape. It may not be the prettiest solution, but i dont really care. Its pretty much temporary and will probably come off when all these cops calm down.

The good thing about this is that when you remove the front plate, you dont have to try pealing the front plate with the tape off your bumper and paint directly. I just peal a corner of the painters tape, and rip the whole layer off WITH the double sided tape and plate.

On a side note, im pretty glad i had the front plate on today. I went driving up in the mountains with a few friends, and the plate saved from all the rock chips my front bumper could have endured.

go for it. I, as well as others, dont like being hassled by cops 24/7 so this is just another solution. Plus, they may pull you over just for no front plate, but they can still add other stuff they notice too once they pull you over such as tint (or even because your car is lowered). Now its not just a $10 ticket anymore. You either remove the tint and lose money because you had to remove it, or you pay the $100+ to keep the tint, and next time you get pulled over for tint again, the price jumps to 2...$300 ish. It basically keeps going up everytime you get cited for that violation.

THX for the tip!
I've been thinking yesterday....how about a temperorly bracket (similar to the L shape one) that clamps (no mounting) to the lower grille mesh??? so there won't be any holes for those who doesn't want ANY drilling on their bumper....
but I am worried about stability for the clamp....

just an idea....

The masking or painter tape is a pretty good idea. To my knowledge there's two colors...the blue one and the off white color. If you cut the tape carefully I don't think the result will be that sloppy.

when you get pulled over every ten minutes and are late to appointments because of it you will change your mind. also, it gives the cops reason to hassle you for other things as well. Parking enforcement will also ticket for it, not worth it imo- LA needs money, their revenue is down because of the lack of real estate sales, I don't see this ending in a week or so...

What do u mean?
This will NEVER end as long as the law and regulation still effective....
Its just depends how anal the cops are. Just these couple weeks they're more anal compare to other times.

Kinda like more DUI roadblocks on holiday seasons, doesn't mean the law doesn't apply other times.

i was referring to the poster who said this is just a passing phase. obviously, the law doesn't change from week to week. It just depends on the mood and priorites of the given law enforcement. I would hazard a guess that this has something to do with the El Monte street racing incident

thats an interesting idea. if your running dealer plates they probably wont harass for the front plate. I know people who run the dealer plates for the length of their lease and never get pulled over...how are they going to know if you just bought it used or something?

Other states put a temporary plate with the date of purchase, unlike here in CALI
