Yes he's clearly in the wrong.

The thin line reference is to him taking some chances he more than likely doesn't need to take.

Perhaps he gains a small profit off these scam deals he's pulling. Nothing worth the trouble that could potentially come his way. People now know a lot about him like where he lives etc.

Think he needs to come clean and make all of this right..probably for his own good.
