I absolutely love it. I could not be happier. Don't get her the X1, it's a toy, and not worth waiting for. This car is perfect, it's a tiny bit smaller than the X5 E53, but larger than the outgoing X3. The 35i engine is fantastic, and the exhaust note is nice but not obnoxious. It definitely turns heads, especially in the early months of its production where MAYBE 10 people in Chicago have the car. I'm enjoying the attention

yeah left head unit and ran an amp for the under seat subs.

if you want to keep your HU, PM Technic - he hand makes an adapter harness set up to keep all the OEM functionality and add aftermarket stuff to.

X1 is smaller which she likes (shes barely 5 ft tall) and its cheaper which I like (I'm Jewish). I also like the thought of a turbo 4cyl power plant... good on gas.

We will see when the Msport stuff comes out and the X1 is released and I can compare the two in the flesh.

Hahahahaha I'm jewish, too. I get where you're coming from, though. Any BMW is really a nice car, but I would advise the X3 only because I'd feel nervous about all the big SUVs whose owners still talk on their cell phones at their ears even though their cars are bluetooth capable if I had the X1.

whats the point though? I mean I drive a 3300lb 1 series, I'm not worried about that.

We don't need bigger stuff either, still just me her and the dog and it'll be that way for a while God willing.
