Took my tail lights back out to add some reflective heat tape under the running lights. The bulbs melted the plastic on one and melted/cracked the other on both of my previous sets of tail lights. I'd like to keep these in tact. Also added pure red LED bulbs so hopefully that'll help.

I'd have them sand blasted & powder coated

You know, I bought everything I need to DIY this and in the end I'm just gonna get them powder coated. Its $75 per caliper and will look way better and last alot longer.

It's time to replace the Konis with more Konis. The old ones bled out. Might try Bilsteins next time.

Stripped the thread on an end link, working on hack sawing it off.. nice weather at least. Long weekend in the icy north so no worries!

You might need to make or purchase a special tool to press the new piston, dust gasket in place

Today I replaced the climate controls in my 2007 328xi with the climate controls from a 2011 335i. Now I have my heated seat buttons back, and the All button, which I really wanted. I love the feature where I can adjust the level of the Auto setting as well. Best $25 I've spent in a while.

Forgot to mention but bought this E46 328ci Sport Topaz Blue on Tan yesterday! The car says 49k miles but the owner said 149k though it has no tamper dot. Either way trying to sort out some issues on it of course it wasn't cheap for no reason

If anyone has any clue as to what these codes could be on my E46 328ci M52b28 it would be very helpful. I know this isn't an e46 forum. Just replaced a split breather hose and still does it. Sometimes it has a nice idle and sometimes it idles with misfires. Something with the fuel system I believe. First screenshot is what came back after clearing. 2nd is when I had just got the car.

Also it just stalled out of nowhere and popes a p0101

I've watched a few videos on the old YouTube and haven't seen anyone use a special tool. It seems that if you lube the piston/seals with brake fluid they slide in relatively easily. But ill look into it. Everything seems way easier on youtube.

Good call, I painted my F30's front and rear... meticulously. Have lasted very, very well for a year+, plenty of clear coat that looks even better than my car's paint cuz of the orange peel from factory lol. But it took like 4-5 days of long hours and by the end of it I said never again

Those turned out great! Yeah if it was like $300 to powder coat them, I'd just paint them myself. But $150 for the pair I can be happy with. The company om using can also disassemble and reassemble them but thats an extra $20 per piston so I'll do that part myself.

Just make sure no oil gets on the lip of the caliper where the seal meets the caliper & no oil gets on the inside of the seal wheee the seal meets the lip.

You gotta push them on evenly. Pushing the piston in is not a big deal. I'd get some special piston, caliper assembly oil.

I have an e46 beater for DD with 191k on it. At 145k I had to replace the CCV system due to almost identical codes, rough idle and occasionally stalling. Cheap enough for the kit, but a major PITA to do.

I think I just might have to. The condition of that upper breather hose kind of sets the standard for the rest of the system I guess.

Which kit did you use

I remember the CCV on an E46 is a tight fit if you don’t pull the intake but it can be done. If you pull the intake, I would certainly change the coolant hard pipe and any vacuum hoses while you’re there.

It looks pretty tight but I'll probably try to do it without removing the manifold as it doesn't look as easy as N52. There's kits for like 35 bucks on amazon I'm tempted to just get one to give it a try because it's so cheap and these codes are all over the place. Could really use this car running fine so I can pull the e92 in for some work
