Yea I hate it too but cold air wreaks havoc on my lungs and it's hard for me to run in the daylight until spring finally hits...I've had way to many close calls despite all the correct night gear to really convince myself to go outside. Last winter going inside to outside was a little strange though since I was running with no incline...which obviously isn't realistic

Bri I'm gonna be honest, I don't know your body well (I'm not Al) but I used to think the same thing however this past winter I didn't feel like I was running as well cuz I was so tired and it was hard to breath a lot of the times and I still managed to drop almost 2 min off my time since Thanksgiving. I think the cold air actually helps even more with training than you think it might and if you take it easy it'll still have a positive effect on your training.

I always run into exercised induced asthma (cold air contracts breathing tubes) and not only struggle for breath after the first 1.5mi or so, I'll have what is akin to a smokers cough for 30-90min after the run. That's really the main reason, though I have had a few close calls at night which freak me out.
