I'm sure its not a game changer like a big aftermarket bar; and I'm not sure Id buy it new either. I have seen 2 wagons at pic n pull yard around here so that would be a good way to pick one up.

I'm sure it makes a bit of a difference, otherwise they wouldn't have done it. The x1 non sport rear is the 13mm and the x1 M-sport rear is 15mm so I'm betting they kept the balance similar. For the e90 sport front to m3: both are 26.5mm dia but the sport has a reduced section in the middle(making the M3 6% stiffer) and for reference the e93 m3 bar is 28mm and 13% stiffer than sport.

Edit: Rwd cars have the same sort of thing. base sway bar is 26.5mm as well as the sport/M-sport; it just has a shorter reduced section in the center
This is quite interesting while I have some suspension parts that need replacement and might be the cause of some body roll I think this is worth a try. I'll be on the lookout for a sport x1 being parted out because an E91 is impossible given their new price tags lol. I'm surprised you saw 2 at the yard

It seems only the m-sport x1's has sport suspension; normal sport pack did not. Looking back maybe i should have grabbed the front bars off the e91s

I've noticed ever since my CCV replacement I'm losing even more oil.. The thing is, I'm not losing it out of any of the CCV connections. Somehow I think it made my oil pan leak even worse

I initially thought changing mine (done whilst I was doing the inner DISA) had helped, now I'm not so sure. Beginning to wonder about my valve stem seals. Anyone had to do these?

There's a test involving letting the car idle for 10 minutes when warm, then rev it hard and look for blue oily smoke. Trouble is a badly functioning CCV can have exactly the same symptoms.

I really don't like the CCV system on the metal valve cover cars. I think I'm going to move to the plastic valve cover with built in CCV.

If I were to do it again I'd make my own PCV system with a catch can that drained back to the oil pan. It was painful how brittle even the new heated hoses were. Ended up having to order another new crank case vent hose after the first new one broke, and then the other new return hose broke so I said fuck it and made my own with fuel line. Cut off the connection that goes to the oil pan and got hose clamps for either end.

Cabot Trail

I just got back from a two-day road trip to give the car a good run before I get it ready for winter storage. It was almost exactly 1000km round trip. The weather was great, the traffic was almost non-existent and the roads and scenery were fantastic!
For anyone that might be curious this is the Cabot Trail, Nova Scotia.
Oh and I killed some bugs... quite a few bugs.

I've always liked those rims

What size tires are you running on them front to back?

Here's a little video of a couple of downhill runs on my road trip to the Cabot Trail. The first one is 13% grade and the second is 8% grade. It doesn't really show on the video but 13% is STEEP! Lots of brake pedal was used. LOL

Here's one more little video ( the last one from this trip, I promise ). I like the little burp when it shifts from 2nd to 3rd.

Well, it's a diesel wagon, how much more utilitarian can you get. And with a manual transmission it's basically a tractor with an iDrive...

Seriously though, BMWs are very good tow vehicles. Low CoG, stiff suspension, good brakes, and a powerful engine. The 3 liter I6 just
purrs along, even with 2+ tonnes behind...

Wow. You found 18" 313's! That's sort of a rare find.

A lot of the 313's are 19"

I beat it up pretty bad on unimproved forest roads last week.
so I gave it a quick wash.

and it was time to say goodbye to the style 71s for the year.
so now I have WAP.

It's real xdrive hours. Replacing front wheel bearing, cv axle, control arm and sway bar link.

Still trying to figure out how to set this damn spindle up on the press to get the bearing out
