Should be doing one soon, but we always hang out on the weekends. You should come out and show us the correct way to wash and detail our cars.

Shouldn't be a problem. Where do we want to meet up? We need somewhere with a hose

Anyone know of a performance shop in SC that works on our cars? I would like to get my stock DP back on and I don't feel like doing it again. I also want to check into getting the walnut treatment on my valves. We should also have a meet up in Columbia since its central in the state for just about everyone.

I have called a few shops and they want anywhere from $650-$1300! WTF is going on here. I guess I will do it in the garage again. I just hate laying on the ground for hours. Wish I could rent a lift here but they closed the auto hobby shop here due to budget cuts in the USAF.

The hobby shops down here are still open. Other than that I don't know of any shops in Sumter that works on our cars. I know a few in Charleston but that's a drive for you and your closer to Columbia than here. I also down for a meet in Columbia but that's for someone there to organize. If we get something together we would definitely cruise up there.

Do you have the names and numbers of the shops? Its worth the drive for me. I plan on putting it back stock and seeing if BMW will replace my turbos due to waste gate rattle.

Been looking for this sort of thing as well (intake valve clean with walnut media).

Ultimate Autowerks does NOT do it (they hadn't even heard of cleaning the intake valves on N54/55'S when I called them last summer) unless something has changed recently. They can probably do the DP's.

ERR can definitely do the DP's. They are an authorized DINAN installer as well (They have a picture of my car on their website...even though I didnt get any DINAN stuff put on, and the pic was taken before they became an authorized installer). Anyway Karl and his brother are cool people. Karl was an Audi engineer and accomplished driver as well.

I don't know about total mini....might want to check Autometrics as well...they usually specialize in Porsches but can work on all european makes no problem (they build racecars and Corey the owners son has raced in ALMS among a few other series...and he owns (owned?) and E46 M3).

I probably am going to consider the Walnut blast sometime soon. Just turned 30k so it wouldn't hurt. Haven't really checked around but remember someone posting that Rick Hendricks in Charleston was doing it for $280.

I called Hendricks last year and they quoted me $600. There's someone out of Columbia that has been doing it for $250, but you'll have to ask Vinh about that one.

Keep getting Autometrics coupons in the mail so I'll probably take mine there for any future work while I'm still living in Charleston.
For anyone wanting to do their own work I believe you can rent lifts by the hour at DIY motorsports.
I also still have a 10k mile set of KW V2 for E90/E92 325i/328i/330i/335i if anyone is interested.

Stay as far away from Rick Hendricks as possible. They misdiagnosed a problem on my car that should have been an easy fix. Ended up sticking me with the bill for their incompetence. Only service your car there if under warranty. Chad at total BMW is great but he doesn't like to work with aftermarket parts. Although he reluctantly will but if the part isn't to oem specs he will charge extra labor.

He walnut blasted my valves for like 300. Did a great job.

A couple of us have been hitting the local drag strip when they have events. I believe the next one is this weekend coming up at the dorchester drag strip. Kind of sucks because its only 1/8 mile.
