I inflated my tires. 34psi in front, 38psi rear. Don’t know why the manual recommends that.

There seems to always be issues with the aftermarket remote start kits on our BMWs. It is a shame for those of us in the snowy states.

Seems like it. Got called to open at work (my day off) today and I tried to explain to them my car was down because of this little project so I wouldn't be able to. It wouldn't recognize the key with the harness plugged in. Spent the last half hour in the cold undoing everything I did yesterday and they still have the nerve to bitch at me for driving it here

Is this the used kit that someone was selling here recently? If it's one thing I've learned over the years, it's don't buy/install used alarms and remote starts - not that I'm suggesting someone sold you a defective product.

If I didn't know better I'd think we worked at the same place! I used to bail them out all the time, finally I'd had enough when they reward the people that call in all the time (or better yet come in high of their ass), and I get screwed. Then 2 months ago we got shut down temporarily because an employee (actually 2) had Covid. I try to stay on top of that as much as possible because one of our kids is severely imunocompromised. When the employee got sent home I came in later that day and I asked my GM to her face do I need to be concerned. She was like "oh no, it's nothing." A few days later we got the call that we were closing. Management even told him not to say anything.
Long story short she decided that covering 3 shifts or so was more important than my sons life, so I went way back on hours and will be quitting entirely soon.

I looked into that remote start, but never bought it. As I recall, you had to have access to their website to flash the module with a web link interface (a USB cable that you bought separately), but had to have a password to get access, and then at some point you had to flash "klone" for the key frequency. If you didn't do that it wouldn't work. Interested to see how you make out with it. colorado.e9x

Contemplating disconnecting the exhaust flap module (rather than the golf tee) on my new to me '15 35i. Did some recon and found it under the rear driver side storage cup. Mine is secured by a rubber strap. Need a few more moments to examine how to disconnect the clip to deactivate. Thoughts?

My FTP CP should be here today. Access looks more straight forward when compared to my e92.

Update: finished in about an hour with one arm in a sling. Zero parts "needed" removal to gain access to what I need. Half the time was looking for the right tool. And I managed to get the OEM one off 100% in intact. Go figure!

Yep. Followed the instructions to a T today and it's still acting weird. Giving up and taking it to a shop next Thursday. I guess then we'll see if its just me being a dumbass or if the module is messed up

Added this button to replace a fading one. I kinda like it. Supposed to be similar to newer BMWs. It won't fade since the whole thing is entirely plastic.

It sticks out a little but but it's not too bad. All in all I'm good with it. If I decide I don't like it later it's really easy to swap.

Installed the new windshield cowl, the old one was starting to look a bit rough at the edges.

That's not a bad idea. I'll take look into that and see if I can find one in black. Thanks!

Well actually...normally I hate unnecessary carbon fiber but the geometric pattern of it might go well with the hard edges of the reflective surface. Plus it's the only one I can find that I can fit it to look at it without removing the adhesive.

Are you having issues? I wouldn't go off adaptation values alone...

Jolting going into 4, 5 and 6. Had the gearbox serviced late. First BMW so should've done more research before buying. Would say its slipping as such but I didnt put it through a gearbox service which has not help. I checked the adaptations and clutch E is on 750mbar. Been told by my local 'BMW specialist' to put the gearbox in for a refurb or buy a new box...

I'd have it serviced again and if it's still doing it I suggest you try some Lucas transmission fix additive. Maybe the guys here frown upon mechanic in a bottle solutions but that completely solved my torque converter jerking issue in my old civic and then drove it for like 20k miles and not softly until it got totaled.

Serviced less than 1K miles ago. Dont really want to keep pumping more money if i can help it. Looking for a new box but not sure what will fit. Do you know if a ZF6HP28 will fit?
