Okay, well let me know if it would help and i can send it over.
i've had the 3-stage parts sitting in the garage for 2 years, and haven't had funds to spend on a professional tuner, so just seeing the possibility of MSV80 progress got me a bit excited , but i'm not expecting anything fast. Thanks again for all the work you're doing! |

If you know where the running hours are stored, you can probably do it that way. Though if you're opening up the DME anyway, you may as well just edit whatever you need to via bdm

Edit: Actually I now have a functional RSA delete. I don't know if Chris' XDFs are comprehensive enough to copy all the 3 stage parameters to a base 328i tune, but RSA is no longer holding us back. Last edited by Terraphantm; 02-03-2017 at 07:44 PM.. |

Need more work in the disassembly - i dont have very many of the references working yet for MSV80. Once I have that, searching is simple(r).
I havent finished 100% of MSV70 yet either - I'm at like 99%. Realistically, the missing parameters are of little real world use though. |

Okay so I think I've got functional 3-stage tunes for the MSV80 128i, 328i, and 528i. I don't have access to an MSV80 car though so I can't test driveability. If anyone is in a position to do some testing, let me know.
Maybe we should start an MSV80 thread... |

We appreciate all this work guys, I see a semi-bright future ahead for the n52 If you want me to do any testing, this may require some instructions of what you want. Last edited by JohnG7; 02-05-2017 at 11:15 AM.. Reason: add info |

Right now I think it would be better for me to test on a 1, 3, or 5 since the E89 Z4 is on a newer program variant than the other cars, and I haven't yet written an RSA delete for other program variants. I also don't have a good way of backing up a tune yet.
Thanks for the offer though! |

No problem, is the least I can do (to offer).
This work is pretty exciting to many of us, is appreciated. If there is any help I can offer, just ask (I can try)... |

Already did - the 325i transitions are identical. http://www.e90post.com/forums/showpo...78&postcount=6 Which, not coincidentally - is what you get with an AA "3 stage" tune. |

Question, depending on load, temps and other various imputs, does the DISA activation actually change? |

Load, yes - temps, no not generally.
Its really pretty black and white. Either the code references something (temperature, load, rpm, etc) or it doesnt. Theres nothing in the DISA code that references air, engine or radiator temperature. These are easy to see in the disassembly. |

DISA works on resonance of air in the tubes and that would mainly depend on the length and geometry of the tubes which are not changing. Intake air temperature would have some effect on these because of air density change but that would be minimal, I would think so.

Gotta love this thread, I have successfully read mine one too!!!
Funny thing though, how come I can read it via OBD, but can't read via pin heads? I did make sure the pin 1 aligns and all other pins align properly to the pads too?? Can hass or terra shed some light?

I have a 2007 e91 msv80 328xi. Haven't installed the 3-stage yet, but have all the parts. What is necessary for the testing you'd like to do? Without bdm, I'm hoping to not brick the DME

The flash uses WinKFP - so it's really unlikely to brick anything.
Terra has bench tested it but I haven't yet. We could probably come up with some sort of step by step guide for the flash. |
