Exhaust out. Had a oopsie with the cutting wheel cutting one of the upper rusted flange nuts off, just couldn't see what I was doing until it was too late. I think this has pushed me over the decision edge towards catless midpipes, since I'd already have to fix these.

Did my N55 OFHG yesterday as well as a few other "while I'm in there" type of things (coolant flush, upgraded coolant pipe flange, external oil cooler gasket, checked out carbon buildup on valves, etc.).

OFHG was starting to leak with just 54k miles on the clock on my 2013 E92 335i.

Overall went pretty smoothly, just a pain having to take out the whole intake manifold to get to that one bolt on the back side.

Overcame my fears of the rumors that N55's can spin a rod bearing after the OFHG change, cranked her on, let her warm up, and she's running like a deam. Now to just wait until the valve cover starts leaking....

Finally finished with this fucking intake, what a pia. Custom charge pipe needed along with a Turbosmart Raceport bov but it's a completely clean stage 2+ install.

around here a $20 bill would get that crack welded up at a muffler shop.

but don't let me talk another person out of any reason they need to spend money on a car.
it's obviously ruined, and you should throw it all in the trash.

With the way my car smells after idling in a spot for a while with headers on and secondary cats I can't even begin to imagine how it would with catless midpipes. But maybe there isn't that much of a difference.

I have a MIG welder. I'm not very good with it but I'm sure I could patch that little slit right up. But I think you're catching on, I showed the wife and she concurs, it's toast and my order is already in for a set of Supersprint Section 1s.

You have catless headers? I'm thinking that's where most of the gas processing happens since that's where it's hot, but IDK. I'll keep the cats just in case I gotta put them back on for inspection or if the smell really is obnoxious.

Yeah I have catless only secondaries left on there. Maybe the secondaries don't clean up the smell much at all and add noticeable power but I'd have to be extra sure before doing that lol. Would like to see an update on how the catless midpipes feel once installed and if they make the car smell at all.

I'm going the opposite direction, afe catted headers mainly for the plug and play 02 sensors, that's not something I want to code out then take thru inspection. After the primary cats tho there's no more sniffers, and since this thing has been forced to breathe thru those things for 206k miles I think it deserves a little break.

Exhaust cleaning up pretty nice, most of the pits sanded out fairly easily. Little more polishing around the edges and I'm calling it good enough.

Yeah I have a problem with the buffers and polishers. I was just thinking I need a clone to do the actual work while I detail stuff out.

Bad as it is with BMWs and Harleys it's worse considering I couldn't help doing it to a 6.0L Ford F-350 either. Everything takes a lot longer than it could

Thanks brother

My cup holder seized yesterday so I decided to follow guides on here and YouTube to fix it.
All done, but whilst it pops out, but the spring now fouls the side of the moving inner part so it sticks something silly. Time for an eBay replacement I think.

If its the passenger side I'll give you my broken one if you pay shipping

the mechanism isn't broken, just the hinge that folds down so you could just swap parts

That's a very kind offer, but I've managed to find one on eBay for £14 inc postage. Also, the left hand drive versions appear to be mirror images of the right hand drive ones, so I would assume totally not exchangeable. Cheers anyway!
