Yep all good for Saturday, won't be too difficult modifying the socket.

Research up on what toe setting you want to run so when you get there you can tell them what to set it to. (less toe in is better esp with all that extra camber )

Thanks for the heads up titium although I don't have the first clue about toe and camber. I thought the aim was to get the max facing of rubber on the road.

Speak to vince get his opinion but I run :

Camber - Max you can get (should be getting close to -2.2deg)
Front Toe - I run 0.4mm toe in (I only have dinan plates though -1.6-1.7 deg camber)
Rear Toe - I run 0.4 to 0.6mm
Rear camber - No idea what a good setting is (maybe -1.5 deg?) all i know is have way too much at the moment at -2.3deg.

I emailed Terry Fair from Vorshlag (when i was considering getting his plates) this was his response:

"Most folks with this setup run -2.5° for track and street use and set the front toe to zero."

Less Toe helps with turn in as well as tyre wear on the street with the extra camber (most shops set toe to around 1.2mm if you don't tell them any different in my experience)

These are my final alignment specs after my suspension install. Toe angles were initially way off but that's because of all the new parts fitted.

I think this alignment is very good. The first drives, the turn in and steering response was much more immediate and sharper, but got used to it after a few weeks. Could definitely reduce the toe (on the front) a little bit further without sacrificing straight line stability and making the car darty.

Hi, Socket:

I saw the first post, but it appears as if you changed CPs at the same time you added the Dinan intake and, by itself, post 1 doesn't make that clear.

Regardless, I really appreciate the feedback.

Further, I admire the vision and interpretation of the platform that you've displayed in your build.

Great build Socks. I was trying to work out what mods remain for you to complete. The only ones I could think of were Port Injection, larger oil cooler, upgraded transmission with higher stall converter and DSS half shafts. That should give you a reliable high 10s vehicle at a fraction of the cost of other vehicles with a similar performance i.e. GTR35, Porsche, Lambo's, Audi RS6/RS7.

The power delivery of our cars don't need this. Already on the edge of wheelspin straight off the factory stall. They're a must for V8s with a huge cam and nothing before 4500 tho. High stalls are also a PITA on the street.

I have a Dominator higher stall converter in my 335i which is only noticeable when initially taking off. When I talk about higher stall, I mean 2,800-3,000rpm. With larger turbos and the torque at higher revs, higher stall is required for launching at the drags and getting the 0-60' time as low as possible. I agree with V8's, you have to use 4,500 stall converters to get them to launch off the line with slicks. I had a high stall converter (3,000)installed in my G6E Turbo and managed 0-60' in 1.65s. With the standard convertor, I could only manage 1.9s.
